Would you pay £24m for Lukaku?

What is the maximum you'd pay for Rom?

Having Barkley back and playing up front allowed him to get back to his best. I hope the experiment of sticking him on the wing is over.

I agree that Naismith and him take up the same space however the difference is the defence are always prioritizing Lukaku, with Barkley being back I think it just took a little bit of the attention of him. Even Jags's goal was down to this a little.

However Naismith is winning me over too even if he doesn't score. He doesn't give the ball away cheaply and works really hard unlike McGeady.

I thought you'd posted the strangest post of the day in another thread until I've just seen this one. Winning you over? Jesus Christ.

The lad could sit infront of the Gwladys all game and do nothing bar score one or two and that'd be sound.

Some blues seem intent that he's useless because he's not a carthorse like Strac who runs and runs. He's not a worker and never will be, his game is the smart game and he gets in positions to slot. He'll be much better having Ross back and even back when he gets Mirallas back and they play as a three. If we want strikers who'll run their arse off but do nothing else, we'll get Marcus Bent back but myself, I'd personally have him Romelu.

Its incredible the amount that Naismith brings to our team yet doesn't get any real credit for from some fans.

The lad is a managers dream. He is an upgrade in many ways to Tim Cahill. Shares the same work ethic and exceptional attitude, but he has a superior footballing brain. Both may not be the best passers but score important goals.

Too many are spending time watching and waiting for our 28m striker to do something amazing but missing out on really appreciating a real footballers footballer.

Its not like you can only have one or the other. It is not unreasonable to expect a minimum level of work rate or ability to be competent in other regards barring putting the ball in the net.

Otherwise to your point Tony Coffee would be considered an Everton great. The reality is that he was all in it for himself and was never a team player.

I get that mate, you can have a balance between the two but myself, I'd take the goals over him running channels all game and doing nothing. Every week behind me the same: "He doesn't run" "Move lazy arse" I'd take him with limited movement and more goals myself

Lad next to me said " rom doesn't look the same player, just looks lazy".

rom scored less than a minute later

Or you can appreciate that both Lukaku and Naismith are very different types of players, both excellent in their own way, and be glad we have them at our club.

Lukaku was better today, but his control was still poor at times and he tended to drift all over the place. He needs to put more pressure on the central defenders, but ultimately - he scored. And that's what he's there for.
