Speaking of insanity being the stubbornness to keep doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results...an interim manager hurts, doesn't help.

If we're in the relegation zone by the holiday break, I'll join you in calling Silva an Uber to the airport.
No club will want to lose a really god manager mid season. Unless we get Mourinho who is currently drawing unemployment benefit each week then we may have to wait to get the man we want.... whoever that may be.

We may throw money at a club to release their manager but that is hardly a practice that has served us well.
David Moyes is the obvious name because of his previous history at Everton but there may well be better names for interim manager available.

For those who would not want him back because of how he behaved when he left ( I thought he made a real mess of that and lost a lot of the respect that many of us had for him , I certainly had no sympathy when he got his Old Trafford p.45) the ultimate kick in the back side to him would be to bring him in as a stop gap knowing he was out at the end of the season to be replaced by somebody better.

It’s a Catch-22: Keep Silva, potentiality have a relegation battle and then have a tough task attracting players and a new coach. Bring in a sub-optimal candidate and run the risk of them outperforming and then being under pressure to keep them on. Funnily enough, Moyes was a mid-season replacement and he turned out to be just what the doctor ordered. Would be interesting to see how often this is the case.

can we please hold off on the relegation talk (it's quite frankly absurd) until at least January? There are 90 points left to earn (and yes I know a good many of them are against the likes of Liverpool et al)

and the doctor who ordered Moyes is retired

We have relegation form - a quarter of the season is now gone! We will probably recover, but have little chance of European qualification now. Compare how Marco has done here to the performance of Hodgson at Palace.

We can't score goals, can't keep clean sheets, keep losing soccer matches and the manager can't find a way to change it...absurd you say?
