Would you welcome Rooney back to Goodison?

After he first signed for MUFC and before they first played against us I recall his family home having paint and excrement thrown at it. Some say [Poor language removed] fans, others say it was us.

Either way, how would you react when you first returned to your home city?
Sad if this is what happened, and as said in previous posts its the mindless idiots that probably sparked the reaction of rooney however again like in previous posts 99% of evertonians are not like that and also kissing the badge like rooney did only encourage thses muppets even more but at the same time hurt the genuine evertonians who once adored him

To be honest mate, yourself, probably everyone, me inclusive. If a fan of a club hurt any member of your close circle of care then you would hold a grudge against every one of them. The red mist drops, logic goes out of the window.

Plus, don't forget mate, these things happened before he played against us, so being before he kissed their badge. How could he make things worse? I would not be surprised if he was murderous about it.

Like I said before anyone starts giving me a hard time, I do not approve of what he did, and I certainly don't condone it, but we are not innocent.

And yes, I would still have him back if he showed us great apology and earnt our respect once more. If he can forgive us for our actions, then I am sure we can return the same. All it will cost him is a hat trick in an away mersey derby.

Now that you put it that way i suppose i have a differant outlook on the situation.

Keverton sits and ponders his views on the wayne rooney situation

Why should anyone be giving you a hard time mate? I admire your honesty, but don't feel exactly the same about it. I agree however on your viewpoint about the way the culprits should be handled. There's no way it should be accepted. I still stand my decision of never wanting him back, but do respect all other opinions.

We get this thread every 4-5 weeks. It's usually 50/50 split. Cal is 30% of the negative all on his own like :D

If in 5 years time Rooney came back to Everton, Would you welcome him back?

I have no problem with this. He's a world class player who has made an indelible mark for himself on the world stage. And contrary to the opinions of some on here the lad still has many friends both in the neighbourhood and at Goodison itself. And after all it is at Goodison that he launched his career.
If his family choose to commemorate his prematurely choking to death on his own ranga ego with a service in the Street End I'm happy to accede.
They can even bury his fat arse under the goalmouth for all I care.

Be quiet mate telling me what i would do in his position. He would have been earning more than enough at everton and all we were asking for was for him to give us a chnace but he jumped ship at the first opportunity. Any to answer your question no i would not have done what rooney did he treated the club manager and suppertors with a great lack of disrespect, so i would have stayed with the club for a few years to see what happened like torres did at athletico and the title was would i welcome him back to which i said no.

No you wouldn't, not a chance in hell, immediate success? immediate stardom and your lifetime ambitions achieved at the age of 20?

OR

stay here, maybe get in the uefa cup, maybe get to a semi final, maybe get a place on the bench for england because you only play for everton, earn peanuts in comparison and then think (after a few years) maybe its time to move now. At which point man utd bought someone else and dont need you now and your stuck at a club with very little prospects of achieving anything during the majority of your career?

Its a no brainer. I hold no grudge against him whatsoever and he should be welcomed back with open arms, he's one of the best in the world FFS.

Well I dont know how you go about it but I welcome great signings, I'd welcome carragher gerrard and owen to the club as well, all 'former' blues who don't show a remote bit of allegience to the club they supported when they were young.

I hope he dies, you can give me an infraction all he wants, but i hope he dies soon cus i hate him so much.

I've never felt such hatred for someone as much as him.

The year is 2018

Alan Stubbs the new manager after the sacking of Alan Irvine.

Alan Irvine took over in the summer of 2013 after Moyes sees out his contract and then returns to Celtic.

Stubbsy (back at Everton after a succsessful spell as Moyes' number 2 at former club Celtic) gives old pal Wazza a call and since he can no longer get a game for united, agrees to return to the club and partner Luka Jutkiewicsz up top.

No since it would more than likely mean that Moyes isn't employed by Everton anymore.

However, the player alone, yeah, I'd probably be ok with him being back (as long as Stretford isn't his agent.)

Now, Radzinski on the other hand....

Yes I would accept Rooney back, if David Moyes wanted him in the team. I want above all else for us to be a winning team. If that means re-signing ex players, signing former Liverpool players, or picking up any other sod who has caused upset in the past then so be it. If the manager see's the move as an improvement to the team and our success.

I would only complain if we went back to signing has beens who are more of a burden to the team than of use in our progress.

In the end for me it comes down more to trusting the manager and wanting the best for the team than bearing a grudge against a player.
