WW3

US arms companies need to export their products in order to survive. The rest of the world will look elsewhere for their weapon systems. The internal US market is not enough to sustain these huge companies.
So a friendly deal to protect a nation that is under pressure from a neighbour is a lucrative one? Someone uses the gift 50% mineral rights to cover back support, and the 50% that is theirs is siphoned off in the same direction for rebuilding and defence.

Turn one win into three.

Business on this scale is easy, so long as you don't give a toss about the lives lost and the suspicion you're treated with later on. Reminds me of the bit in goodfellas' when Liota is explaining about the protection racket and "feck you pay me!".

What you’ll see in the near future is fighter aircraft controlling drone swarms.
Historically, armies always arm themselves to fight the last war, but warfare evolves. The Ukrainians are th world leaders in drone warfare. We cant afford to let them lose and come under the control of Russia as that drone warfare capability will be aimed at us.

imagine a firefighter carrying someone down the stairs of a burning building, halfway down the stairs saying to their casualty "well I havent heard a thank you from you yet", and then later demanding to use half of their house for saving them

Saturday, March 15, 2025, may have seemed unremarkable to most Americans. But in time, history will remember it as Black Saturday—the moment the United States ceased to function as a constitutional democracy.

For the first time in modern American history, a sitting president openly defied a direct federal court order—and nothing happened. No intervention. No enforcement. No consequences. A legal ruling was issued, and the White House simply ignored it.

Looks like trump gave the green light for slaughter of innocents overnight. Let’s hope he doesn’t do the same with putin and Ukraine.
He will happily let Ukrainians die until he gets his minerals deal. It's clear that the US today is an unreliable partner and cannot be trusted. However, we still have strong partners that we need to work more closely with. Most of Europe, Canada, Australia is a strong alliance when we work together. The US stands to lose more than we do if they want to bully their allies.

I see everyone’s favourite disruptor state have killed upwards of 300 people overnight, in another clear breach of the ceasefire deal they signed up to.
No one is happy about this but this comment does apply some context to the situation.

No one who is pro-Israel is happy that war has resumed. We want to see the release of the hostages and for there to be no more hostilities. However, when the governing power in Gaza refuses to release hostages and vows to commit more Oct. 7ths, there is truly no other option.

Of course a lot of people in Israel don't want this to be happening, because it places the hostages who are still alive in further danger. That's all i will say on the matter here.

This is bigger than Ukraine. The US has shown itself to be an unstable, untrustworthy ally. Other nations will be looking elsewhere for defence deals now. Murica just killed its own market.
