heres a video of the xbox conference at e3 yesterday for those who missed it.


they have completely gone to war and have took a huge bite at ps3 and wii.

not only have they got great games (first half of the video) including alan wake , modern combat 2 , forza 3 , splinter cell conviction and the xbox only rights to the next metal gear solid , but they have some great new features coming.

facebook and twitter on the 360 , instant watch hd films (no need to wait for download !!! death to the blu ray and dvd disks ? ), free radio stations , sky tv , and a virtual cinema to watch films and tv with your online freinds (the football watching theater experience looks very very good and loads of fun) , lastly project natal , a motion sensor which makes 'you' the controller.....this technology is something else and blew me away.

its quite a long video but worth the watch especially the project natal bit.

im one happy xbox owner after watching that.
 
The Microsoft press conference was very good, though I think some of it meant nothing to me. The downloadable titles is pointless for my 360 with like 13 gigs of memory, I'm not sure if Metal Gear Solid Rising IS exclusive, since if it were they'd have said so about a million times, and they didn't say it once.

The Sony press conference just now was also fantastic. New MGS for PSP, new Resi, Final Fantasy 14, Motion controller that looks like a mature version of Wii Motion Plus, God of War 3 and Uncharted 2 looking great, that Littlebigplanet meets MarioKart looked awesome.

Was just a great all round e3 for gamers.

i thought the mgs:rising might not be xbox only , but at the conference the xbox chappy said a few minutes before anouncing it that "all of the following games are xbox only titles" mgs:rising was one of the last titles in that section.

im with you on the downloading games comment ,the hard drive is much too small. its a great service to have but i would need a much bigger hardrive before i can consider downloading full games.
 

Playstation 3 is dead. No one in Japan is buying it let alone the rest of the world. Those arrogant idiots haven't even announced a price cut yet.

Ironically the next gen game that I'm most interested in is Valkyria Chronicles which is a PS3 exclusive. Its not worth buying a $400 dollar machine though.

I still play my PS2 and am playing Persona 4 now which is a great RPG. Just can't get into FPSs which is all the next gen seem to be putting out anymore.

Xbox 360 is running away from the PS3 however its far behind Nintendo DS and Wii. I think MS is still losing money on the Xbox.
 
That project Natal look amazing. If it is as responsive as it is in the demo it's 100 times as good as the wiimote. You'd need a pretty big, empty living room to use it though.

The Sky player will be cool if they let you watch what you have in your home package for free, won't pay a fiver to watch Everton on my xbox when i'm already paying for Sky Sports

ez basil !

from what i can fathom the sky player will work in 3 ways.
if you have a sky account already you can just log into the sky player on the xbox using your account details (when i was with sky i used the sky player on my pc and its was alright but not brilliant)
the other 2 ways should be pay as you go per programme or pay per month subscription using microsoft points.
im with virgin now and wont be going back to sky but i may use the pay as you go option to watch a few matches on live.(love the fact you can watch the game with freinds in the virtual theater (how long do you think it will be before we have a whole virtual stadium of avatars from around the world watching a game ?)


ive got a box somehwere which contains controllers of all sorts , guns steering wheels , fishing rods , rackets , i like the fact that natal will put an end to all this build up of junk.

i just like the way people have demanded motion controllers like the wii and blu ray like on the ps3 , but xbox have gone way beyond on both options saying " why do we need disks and why do we need contollers" they really have been thinking outside the (x) box ((y)see what i did there, lol).

I'm being sent Persona 4 through Goozex - Trade video games for Sony Playstation 3, PS2, Microsoft Xbox 360, PC, Nintendo Wii, Gamecube, PSP, DS, GBA, Dreamcast, Mac - Your game trading community atm. Can't wait to play it, should arrive tomorrow.

I do think next year a PS3 will be a necessity though. I mean, there'll be so many reasons to get one by then, MGS4, Littlebigplanet, Final Fantasy 13 and 14, Disgaea 3, Valkyria Chronicles, That ModracerNation thing, The resistance and motorstorm titles, Gran Turismo 5 one day, being able to play Tekken 6 with a proper d-pad, the old Playstation Final Fantasy titles on PSN, God of War 3, Killzone

goes on.

I'm glad I waited it out, because there was absolutely no reason to buy a PS3 up to this point. But it's starting to sway me.
 

Yeah but it's still a reason to get a PS3, cos you can't get it anywhere else.

(until next years PSP version obv.)
 
this natal thingy! isnt it just like the ps eye? which has been out for years?

i got the ps3 eye and its great!
