Yakubu?

Blue Wiz

Player Valuation: £25m
According to this:

Spending spree

Moyes is targeting Yakubu £10M and apparently rekindling his interest in Fernandes after loosing out on Lucho Gonzales.

Thoughts about Yakubu? I personally think he can be the striker type we need. Worst part... African Nations player.

Apparently we'll face competition since Birmingham, Portsmouth & ManC have shown or is reported to be interested in him... but according to Southgate no club has placed an offer on the table yet.

A quick raid for him would make me very happy... but I doubt Middlesbrough will sell him.

Cant see this one...just speculation. i think yakubu scores spectacular goals but not too regularly.(Am i wrong?) Fernandes is putting 2 and 2 and getting 5. Why would we get him for 6 million now when we were quoted 11?

I think the reporter here only have seen that we only need to pay £6M to his current club.. not the amount we need to pay his other owner.

fernandes was also 12m euros not pounds as was repeatedly mis-reported.
Which is roughly £8m.
Given that theres hardly been a queue of clubs wanted to get involved in the part-ownership fiasco that has happened with manyoo, it puts efc in a better bargaining position.

If those stories were true I would be happy, but hasn't Boro rejected a ~10million bid already this off-season. I think that shows we have a lazy journalist on our hands.

Manny coming back would be great!

Fits into Moyes vision of building his team around a core of young players.

both of those prices seem low. 6mil for fernandez. if it was only that simple. and yakubu for 10 mill? boro will not let the only difference between mid table and a relegation dog fight leave for that!

Dunno, but compare aj and yakubu...

Yakubu -
12 Premier League goals in 34 appearances

AJ -
11 Premier League goals in 32 appearances

yakubau and aj would be a hand full for any defense in the league... or europe for that matter! both of them expert pen takers. along with mikel and timmy we look good for a pen shoot out at last eh?;)

They would be the little and large team, however I don't think its true.

Would certainly not mind seeing manny back on the park. Arteta, Manny, Pienaar in the midfield would certainly ensure the Yak and Andy get some great thru balls...i.e. more goals ... yippeeee :D

By the way, where all the money come from now...? Moyes is famous for his last minute shopping ... ;)

Ohh I would love too see these two players in the Royal Blue.

Yakubu IMO (and as I have stated before) is Les Ferdinand reincarnated - all power and pace - remember the goal against us two seasons ago.

Manny - why no-one else has been in for him I dunno. He would be a hit instantly and will need no time adapting as he knows the lads, it makes sense bringing him back.

Look at the midfield - Cahill - Manny - Arteta - Piennar - that is as good as anything in the PL.
