Transfer Rumour Yankuba Minteh

The money Brighton are paying is much more than we should be risking for a player who has a season in Holland. Didn’t Brands say you shouldn’t pay more than £15m for a player from that league.

He sounds exciting but may well be a flop

Did he really say that? I don’t remember it at all, but what a stupid thing to say if you then end up going back and working there.

So the new owners are making absolutely no difference whatsoever
Not right now no in a money for transfers sense. They haven’t even bought the club yet. They have just given us 200m to pay off the Msp loan and stadium completion costs. If they decide to pull the plug after their due diligence or the PL rejects their takeover the money will become a loan we have to pay back. If they buy the club it will be turned into equity.

Newcastle valued him at £40 million according to reports, they didn’t value Dom at that though. At 19 years of age was he guaranteed to come in and fill his spot? Sorry but I would have had serious doubts. This guy looks good but for me he isn’t what we need right now. We need to secure mid table next season and then push on from there. In the future I’d be for this kind of deal, at this moment in time, no.

Reporst were we were geting around 35m for DCL before the deal broke down.

Also the fee for players was agreed by the clubs. Deal only broke down because DCLs wage demands were too high.

Minteh isnt DCL replacement hes a winger. We would of singed his replacement with the 30m odd we would of recived from the deal.

Essentially we could of ended up with a front 3 of

Philogene adebayo minteh

Out of one deal with the player + the wiggle room it would of allowed us with psr. Now were stuck DCL if he can stay fit and the two snails on the wings.

Where is the fume from the national media about Newcastle selling a 19 year old player for £30m to circumnavigate PSR, like there was when we sold 21 year old Dobbin for £9m!
I think the difference was they are selling to a club who don’t need to urgently navigate the choppy waters of PSR, when we and AV exchanged essentially the same profile of player for similar transfer values on the same day. I know there outrage around how we are being focussed on, but it baffles me that anyone thought the timing of that transaction would not have raised eyebrows. (Not necessarily the fees involved)

Yes and thats exactly the point, with our current situation of likely losing Dom because he won’t sign a new deal and with our lack of cash, we need to replace like for like. This would have been strange for me as a trade as we were never going to pay their £40 million valuation. Dom going means we need a forward, a replacement striker to come in.
