Look at him, clinging on for dear life when he's known for weeks and weeks the club can't wait to see the back of him. Surely the fact that not one single club in the world was willing to offer a permanent deal for him must show him where his stock now lies. About time he finally jumped ship and made an actual effort to continue with his career instead of being happy to pick up his wage without earning it.

That is way too harsh a statement. He had an awful injury, worked hard to get back and then found himself in a side managed by someone who hates football - and it appears from all the things I've seen to have actively wanted to stay here and fight for his place.

He isn't Mirallas, never behaved in the way Rooney did at times last season and was not obviously finished like Williams. I for one would have happily seen what he could do as part of the new order. I think he deserved a shot and it does make me feel a bit uneasy that the club appear to have driven him out in the way most decent people objected to when it was Niasse.
