Well, although we overpaid (hugely) at £25m at the time, he did bring something that squad lacked.

You can't legislate for a bad injury such as his, which is what has scuppered the resale value. Yeh, we'd had never made our money back, but I'd say without that injury we either

a) wouldn't be so desperate to get rid

or

b) a team would have taken a punt at £15m ish

The squad was lacking a headless chicken who was more concerned with getting his rating up on Fifa than actually performing on the pitch. Sadly, it wasn't really a void that needed filling.

He was/is an awful player. Completely stifles your attack when you've got someone like Bolasie who doesn't have a clue about link up play. All you get is head down football with no end product.

He’s a player who gets a team up the pitch from a low block just by straight line running, probably why sam liked him.

Marco has got no time for that.

Having signed Anwar El Ghazi on loan from Lille, Aston Villa trying to bring in Yannick Bolasie on loan from Everton could seem like overkill.

However, Steve Bruce made it clear the two new wingers would be of huge help to the Villains’ attempt to return to the Premier League this season, and a loan for the DR Congo international is in the works.

That’s no secret, since all of the English press have covered it, but what appears to have slipped through the cracks, as far as we can see, at least, is that Aston Villa’s offer for Bolasie includes an option to make the move permanent.

It might seem strange that a French outlet would know so much about the dealings between Everton and Aston Villa, but it’s worth pointing out the 29-year-old was born in Lyon in France, so there might be some contacts stemming from there.

Either way, it could be the Championship side will get a chance to sign Bolasie permanently if the Toffees accept their terms.

The winger was signed from Crystal Palace in August 2016 for just over £26m.

Cant vouch for the source of course.

Yeah it sometimes felt like I was banging my head against a brick wall trying to explain that yes he would 'create most of our chances' when he was on the pitch because he just stands at the edge of the box waiting for someone to give him the ball so he can fling a cross in.

He brought everything we didn't need. A bad attitude, a lack of discipline, no footballing brain, and at an age where his huge reliance on pace over skill would become an issue.

Awful signing. You can't legislate for the injury but he is not an Everton player and never was.

When did he ever show a bad attitude?

There's absolutely no evidence of that. Was always fully committed when he played. Come on Tim, you're going overboard again.

A bad signing. But his attitude has never been in question.

Truly awful footballer and personifies a lot I hate about the modern game.

More interested in Instagram activity and a new step over than actually performing on the pitch.
