I have a horrible feeling he might stay. If that's the case the club should ask him to train alone and he shouldn't even be given games with u23s. He should just rot away. Hopefully by the mid season window he'll be desperate to leave.

If he stays it’s because no one wants him

In that case, what does punishing him achieve?

If he wanted to sit back and collect his money then he wouldn’t be training so diligently

He clearly wants to play, and he will if someone will take him

Kicking him down to the reserves will only make it harder to sell him because it makes it look like he’s a problem

Showing he’s a professional who is capable of training with the first team makes him more attractive to sign

No one will take him on the money he's on he needs to take a wage cut. There is no way he will do this therefore make it difficult for him and he might.

I don't but he's Championship level so surely a Championship club would take a chance on him unless he thinks he's better than that or won't take a paycut. If its either of them he deserves to rot. Along with Sigurdsson the worst value for money signing ever.

Or, you know, teams in the championship are balancing the books because of COVID so there aren’t many takers right now, hence we’ll need to wait till deadline day where someone takes a punt on him?
 
There will still be an opportunity to offload him to a lower league club after Monday's deadline .... a return to Plymouth Argyle perhaps ?

Exactly why he needs to take a pay cut.

Hopefully they do but I can see us being stuck still paying 75% of his wage. However this would still be a result as at least we would save something.

I prefer the way Besic and Sandro are going about their business. They are just getting on with things. Must be awful for all 3 players but I don't feel sorry for Bolasie I think it was the way he ended the Villa loan.

I wonder if there's a payment threshold that we pass if he plays another game. I remember something similar with Kone, that he played a random number of games and it triggered a contract extension.

Seems odd that they wouldn't even play him in a cup game, even if it's just to put him in the shop window. He came on and looked good and sharp in preseason, and then nothing.

Can't fault his attitude, and it's a shame how it has worked out for him. I hope he finds a team and gets to carry on his career, especially after working so hard to get back to full fitness.
 
I can see Bolasie going but we will end up paying him off to make it worthwhile, as he will have to take a cut. I can’t see us getting a fee as we’ve pretty much told everyone we’re desperate to get rid of players in the squad, and we don’t want him so are even more desperate to give him away.

I can see us giving away the likes of Bolasie, Besic, Sandro etc for free and I don’t think it’s a bad thing.
