What do you think of Bolaise lid?Koeman either wants Bolasie of he doesn't. If he thinks he can improve the team then the money is irrelevant (as long as we can afford it). What would be even worse would be paying less for a player you don't really want but he's got a good price tag.
ITK's really are utterly pointless.Well in ITKs for announcing it today, for later.
Ahead of the curve and no mistake.
Five stopovers? Is he flying a 737 around the world?![]()
I can see and understand a lot of frustrations with the signing. You end up paying more than you might want to for premier league experience. I think we have tied to go for top players and it hasn't worked, so we may be looking at a slightly alternative strategy which is getting in some proven PL players (Williams, Kone, Bolasie) alongside some highly talented young players (Ziyech) with the possibility of a wildcart pick from Walsh's built up network (Ghezzal, and the lad at Valencia). If a big signing comes on top then it's the icing on the cake but it seems probably a more realistic way to approach transfer of the next 6-12 months.
I am going to put the case for the defence re Bolasie. It looks like it's 25 rising to 30. That's around 8-10 million less than Liverpool paid for Mane for example so it's in the ballpark of cost for premier league signings.
When you look at players you are always wondering "have they got another level". I look at Bolasie and whenever I have watched him he has struck me as a lad who has. The size of him, power and pace meant I always thought he was an unpolished diamond. Palace always had some fantastic wingers but he was seemingly viewed as a cut above them. When we went for Sigordson I was more alarmed as I don't see him as a player who has another level. I don't think he can improve on his stats and at a club where he is less of a focal point they may decline. The same is probably true of Mata, but I think Mata has the intelligence to bring more out of others which differentiates him from Sigordson who I think mains attribute is ballstriking.
The stats can be misleading. They are not great reading, but for a 4 month spell Bolasie's time has been spent playing for a side in the bottom half of the league, often in dire straights of relegation trouble for defence minded managers. They don't excuse the lack of output but it's not a fair like for like comparison with Deulofeu or Mirallas (or even Mane as I've seen on here). He will have to improve those numbers and I'm sure he will be aware of that.
The big reason why it is a yes for me though is that I think he fits like a hand to glove what Koeman is looking to do with Everton. He has said he wants more power, more athleticism and more pace. This lad gives us all of those. The way we played on Saturday I think he would have been a real handful on the break as one of the front 3. His physical attributes are akin to Ronaldo, albeit he lags behind in technical skill but I think he will fit the system perfectly.
I remember people raising eye brows when he signed a similar player (to how he may use Bolasie) in Shane Long for Southampton when he paid 12 million. It seemed steep and probably reflected the Premier League Premium fee. I doubt anybody would quibble that deal now though. I am open minded on this deal, of course there are problems but there are also lots of positives.
Announced today mate but keep it to yourself.ITK's really are utterly pointless.
