Unshamedly lifted from the Guardian - the view of a Palace fan on Yannick...

"For those who say he's "inconsistent and not worth the money" I would say it all depends on what you want out of football.

If its purely and only a results business, and stats such as assists and goals are the be-all-and-end-all for you then his fee would seem over inflated.

However I have had the pleasure of watching him at Palace for the last four years, and he brings something that isn't so easy to quantify - namely fun, excitement and entertainment.

He may not produce the stats that today's Championship Manager PC players rate, but he plays with a smile on his face and quicksilver in his boots, and I for one will miss him.

Good luck Yala."

Tubey,
just wondering what your reaction to the signing of Gueye was, or Williams or Deulofeu when he first came ?

There is a reason RK is being paid vast sums of money to manage Everton football club.
Everybody is entitled to their opinion and managers do get it wrong sometimes.
But, they get it right more than wrong and good managers get it right more than anybody.

Gueye - underwhelmed, but saw the value in it.
Williams - anything to push Funes Mori down the pecking order is fine by me. Need leadership urgently.
Deulofeu - I had no opinion as I had no clue who he was. Just a youth player punt I saw it as.

Was made up with Barry, happy with Lukaku and so on.

Managers make mistakes constantly - see Niasse for details - and why can't I have an opinion anyway? It's a forum!

When you look at who are other options are at left wing this makes a hell of a lot of sense. Really looking forward to seeing him play. He's a hell of a lot better than our previous #14 too!

To be fair, this is the only player who's youtube video hasn't impressed me. Lots of running with no end product. Is he basically just another Theo Walcott / Raheem Sterling?

Please correct me and give me something to look forward to.

Nothing like either of those players.

And his 'end product' is equal to that of all of our wingers - playing in a side that has an extremely poor strike force.

One trick pony with 11 assists in 34 games two seasons ago, with those place strikers mate, how's that bad?

Oh right, let's get a time machine then eh?

Look, I don't want him to be terrible obviously, but I've seen plenty of him. When he blows hot, he destroys teams - but it's twice a season it happens. Every other time, he's anonymous. At least Lukaku scores, despite being pretty much the same - Bolasie, when he's off it, does quite literally nothing.

As always, perfectly happy to be wrong, but we've horribly overpaid here - and the fact is loads of people on here thought the same before he signed, but the predictable "he's an Everton player now, so time to put the blue-tinted specs on" has came into play.

Not for me.

Well I must confess, I wasnt a fan when he was first linked, im hopefully gonna get vaulted about that at some point, but anyway, I dont care how much we paid or where hes come from, I only care how he performs on the pitch and he gets a clean slate from today.

Good luck to the lad, hope he smashes it and pipes down the mutants like me who have judged him without actually ever watching him play.

Koeman won't accept laziness.

I imagine we'll be playing hell for leather football on the counter with two wingers on the bench most of the time. We'all do some serious damage with Mirallas/Lennon to come on with twenty minutes to go, and Bolasie or Del knowing they don't always have to keep it up for the full 90.

Thing about Bolasie is that he can keep it up for the full 90 as well, bringing in some players who can put that type of work into a game should hopefulyl make evertyone else strive to reach that level, Gueye from a limited watch of him (and what he did last season etc) seems another with a brilliant engine on him
