Yannick Bolasie

£25m for a player who hardly scores or makes goals for others.

Will someone take the funny Dutch biscuits off that fat headed fraud.

Whether said in jest or not, let's not go down the route of labelling and personal abuse of our manager. Thank you.

I for one welcome consistency in the stamping out of head size discrimination.

Well done GOT moderation for taking a stance.

The word "lazy" doesn't apply to Bolasie. He runs all day. The problem is he is very limited in what he does on and off the ball other than run in my view.

His best asset is that he's a pressure player from the front, so he forces the opposition to stay switched on at all times. But if they do, he does nothing out of the ordinary to effect the game.

*affect the game

Looks like the type of player we could have done with on Saturday against Spuds.

Ideal when playing counter-attacking football against sides that push their fullbacks up (like Rose & Walker).

Might struggle against teams that sit back and don't afford much space to get in behind the back 4 (classic Tony Pulis tactics etc).

he came on for 20 minutes yeh and didn't do anything of note.

then again it's WBA, with a 1-0 lead, away from home.

Pulis' wet-dream.
Not good enough to start for palace in a home match they should be winning then ?

Anyway.. I'm sure he will be ace for us, I was expecting Mourinho, Witsel, Mata, Bony... So I guess I need to get my head round the level we are really at.

Oh right, let's get a time machine then eh?

Look, I don't want him to be terrible obviously, but I've seen plenty of him. When he blows hot, he destroys teams - but it's twice a season it happens. Every other time, he's anonymous. At least Lukaku scores, despite being pretty much the same - Bolasie, when he's off it, does quite literally nothing.

As always, perfectly happy to be wrong, but we've horribly overpaid here - and the fact is loads of people on here thought the same before he signed, but the predictable "he's an Everton player now, so time to put the blue-tinted specs on" has came into play.

Not for me.

Christ mate, looking at his season 2 years ago for a 27yo player is hardly requiring a time machine time is it? Could equally say why are you judging him on last season when he picked up an injury when on top form - incidentally Palace absolutely collapsed from the time he went out injured after a very good start (29 points from 17 games at the start - when he was injured 3 points from 9 games - which is odd if he is a player who has so little impact on the vast majority of games he plays in isn't it?

Interesting stat in the 33 games he has scored or provided an assist in over the last 4 seasons Palace haven't lost one of them

Because they're the games he's turned up in, which is, what, 1 in 4 at best, given a few of those games will have multiple assists/goals in one?

Basically re-inforces the view he's a world beater when he turns up, anonymous when he doesn't.

@davek @The Esk i fancy writing a piece on this, if I do, where do i submit?
