Yannick Bolasie

Im sorry but I prefer my opinion over a bunch of cockney mutants who have played 2nd tier football for most of their history David.

I was horrified at his signing, but the second he signed on the dotted line his Everton career started and nothing else mattered.

He's made a decent start, let's put it that way. He has a big price tag to justify given his PL career thus far.

Spot on. Martinez gave us a whole good season and still turned out to be gash. We should surely have learned to hold any conclusive judgements a while longer.

Having said that, he looks like he will create plenty of chances and works hard. Promising start.
I think a whole season of management tells you a lot and it undermines any claims that he wasn't the best attacking coach we've had for decades.

I think Bolasie requires competent management to thrive. Under a manager like Martinez for example, I would be very very unhappy with signing Bolasie. Under RK on the other hand, I think it might well be a very inspired hiring.

Told us that he has some good ideas and can deliver some good stuff like an FA cup or a 5th place finish, but ultimately is not the complete ticket and will deliver failure, like a relegation or two bottom half finishes on the bounce. I'm too young to remember much before Walter Smith so I can't comment on decades but yeah his attacking coaching seems good. Sadly footie also requires defending and he's absolutely shocking at that side of things. That's all I'll say on him in here because it's off topic and been argued to death.

Bolasie might seem like a headless chicken to you, I'd say unpredictable (in a good way). I won't be surprised if he frustrates us at times, but if he keeps creating chances and gets a nice haul of assists and chips in a few goals from wide then he's doing his job. Played well on the left last night and we've lacked on that side for some time.

He has demonstrated that he works hard defensively, can beat a man and puts in a good cross. He gives us that threat from the left which we haven't had in years since the heyday of Baines-Pienaar. Hopefully he keeps it up throughout the season.

Baines can also stay further back, leaving us less vulnerable to counter attacks.

Just needs to work massively on his finishing and he'll be the business.

Shooting is wayward a lot of the time.

I like that he can cross. Different to what mirallas and Lennon offer the team, but also retains a different feel to del.

Think he's got a big future here if he continues like this.

That is something the Palace fans were saying when they sold him.

I think it is something that won't see much improvement to be honest. To be a good finisher you need to be calm and composed.

Bolasie's attacking play is best described as dynamic and unpredictable, which makes him a good winger.

Agree totally on the Baines point.

He allows Baines to be much more selective in his decisions to bomb on as opposed to the reckless abandon we showed under brown shoes. Baines has looked far more solid this season and that's encouraging. You don't need to overlap when the defenders are utterly terrified to commit to a tackle on the lad lol

He seems to get under the ball with every shot. His crossing is better because of the same thing, he should try picking his corners instead of lashing at the ball - but I guess that comes with his unpredictability
