Yannick Bolasie

Your havin a laff if you dont acknowledge that Martinez added value to this squad with signings and bringing through talent.

Of course he did mate. For all the things I loathe about him he left us with some real quality and attracted players (initially at least) that we wouldn't have dreamt of under Moyes.

I just think you need to lighten up a bit and stop letting your love of Bobby impact your opinion of Koeman. You let Roberto get away with murder, but we're in 2nd place and you're looking for faults almost. You're the only person I've seen saying anything negative about Bolasie, who has 2 assists in 2 games and should have more really (Ross and Rom both wasting great chances).

He's doing what Koeman signed him to do. If you think he bought him for scoring goals then you have a very low opinion of our manager, as anyone with access to Wikipedia can tell you that's what he doesn't offer. But he stretches teams, uses skill effectively and puts in great crosses. Yes we paid a lot, but then we've robbed Villa blind with Gueye's signing, Stek is a steal for £300K etc. It's a balance. We paid a lot for Rom at the time but if a player is performing then who cares?

Lol, it's like you think the players you're referring to wouldn't have had a career with Martinez, they all stagnated under him. Gareth Barry said as much this week.

He cost £25M and Koeman calls him 'an attacker'. So, yes, I think I have the right to expect at least some goals and that a player who cost that much gets evaluated. I've already said he's an upgrade on Mirallas. I just think he's the focus of our attack and is wasteful. Now that may be the way Everton are set up conservatively as an attacking force, but that's another debate.

I'd love to see some stats to see if they back up whether or not he really is the focus, or much of a focus. Under Moyes you'd recall the "Everton always attack down the left" issue.

I personally think we're offering up a good range of goals. And if Bolasie is being preferred, then that's not a bad thing as he's two footed and switches flanks, so it's not like when we were over-reliant on left flank deliveries.

I don't think it's fair to beat Bolasie with the £25m stick. We know he isn't a £25m player, but does that mean we shouldn't expect Coleman to be any better than a £60K player? What you pay for a player is out of their hands, all I ask is that Bolasie performs to the best of his ability and keeps improving where he can. He puts in a great shift, is beating defenders for fun and is making chances. Hopefully he can add goals also but whilst we're winning every game I don't feel now is the right time to moan about that.

Unless of course, you just love moaning, eh? :)

Proof if it was needed (it wasn't) how much of a bias and angle Dave's opinions have!

Shame as he's a very bright man who does understand the game. I just do not understand why his loyalties to Roberto seem to be stronger than his loyalties to, you know, EVERTON.

I'm sure stats will confirm it. We play a more flat back four now with only a few incursions into enemy territory by the FBs (mostly Coleman as Baines doesn't have the energy now) and Mirallas and Deulofeu have been sharing that other wide spot to not much effect.

You say it's not fair to bring up the fee. But that's what we do isn't it? Niasse is a stick to beat him and others with because it was a large(ish) fee. That just comes with the territory.

£25m doesn't get you a lot these days. Ask Troy Deeney

It's a stick to beat whoever signed the player with, not the player himself. You could tell in his initial interviews Bolasie was a bit uneasy with the fee.

It's just the way it is. When has it ever been the case that a player signed for big money doesn't get a closer inspection in terms of value for money?
