I think those who have watched with there own eyes will agree the chances Bolasie has created have in deed been very good chances and he probably deserves around 5 assists..

Spot on.

I can think of four great opportunities that should (or could easily have) been put away that he's created.

- Barkley vs WBA
- Lukaku vs WBA
- Lukaku vs Sunderland
- Valencia vs Bournemouth

Now, that isn't a 'hard luck' story or anything. It's just simply shirking off this idea he doesn't have end product. Players miss chances all the time, obviously, but that's four examples in five games that could and really should have seen this lad with 'no end product' on 6 assists already...

They are clear cut chances where the final ball is on a 6 pence.. He suits the ball being moved quickly out to him in space after turning over possession which didn't happen the other day, Bournemouth made that pitch look like a tennis court off the ball to be fair to them

Yep this is true, albeit on the rare occasions he did get the ball in space, he mostly failed to take advantage. Everyone had a poor game though - it happens and you just have to move onto the next one.

Hopefully, Bolasie avoids the Barkley dip and doesn't get into a rut.

That was Bolasie's worst game of the season on Saturday. The same could be said about most of the team. He still had that moment of quality when he whipped the cross in, Rom missed the header an Valencia fell into the ball, sending it wide :dodgy:.

Think there maybe a few games like that where he will frustrate for the majority of the game but still have that moment of quality to put the ball into the box an create a chance.

Thought Bolasie was very lucky not to get subbed on Sat, he stank the place out. Yes he created the chance towards the end for Valencia but he hasnt done enough in the last few games for me. Concerned about Mirallas too, if anything more so than Bolasie because at least BOlasie is showing for the ball and still getting on it. Mirallas has been anonymous the last few games and should be looking over his shoulder.

He's done fine in the last few games... He was poor on Saturday no doubting that.

Kev's impact has been limited going forward in the last few games as well, though defensively he has helped out a lot.

Do think there will be changes on Friday though

Aye, Kev hasn't been at the races has he. tbh from what I seen of the match and read on here, nearly all of them could have been subbed at any given time. Overall I think Bolasie has been decent and laid a fair few chsnces on a plate.

This.

As a team though they had been performing well - Kev for example helping out all over the park.

However, Saturday was bad, and as a result I can only think there'll be changes.

If everyone is fit, I'd personally imagine something like this...

Stek

Coleman
Jagielka
Williams
Baines (Oviedo)

Gueye
Barry
Barkley
(as a flat midfield three)

Deulofeu
Lukaku
Bolasie

Robles
Mirallas
Lennon
Cleverley
Valencia
Funes Mori
Holgate/Davies

Here's the way most players view teams in the PL:

Those playing CL football / those not playing CL football

Those paying high wages / those not paying high wages

It's that simple. They're not arsed about what happened the season(s) before and whether a team finished 4 places higher or lower than expectations for them.
Didn't realise you had insight into the psyche of PL players. I would also suggest, that you might think that team don't have a huge amount of money (Everton under Kenwright) and began to challenge for nothing and look over their shoulder at relegation are also something players and agents would consider. Its the reason that we have poached Bolasie from Palace with Moshiris added promise of investment.

Can't see Deulofeu getting a start, definitely doesn't deserve a place. I think he will either stick to the same team or try something completely different. Three Centre halves and wing backs. I just can't wait to beat palace so the forum flips on its head and we're world beaters again.

I'd take Barkley out the side, try Mirallas in the middle and bring in Lennon.

Bolasie - Mirallas - Lennon

That should surely work. If not, at least it's a minor kick up the arse for Ross by benching him. If it doesn't work we at least have options to mix it up... we could take any of those three out and play Kone in the 2nd half in a 4-4-2, or Valencia... or a straight swap for any of the three and Barkley in the middle, or again for any of the three and bring Deulofeu in.

Barkley surely cannot start though.

Hi mate, small detail and question....
Why is Oviedo in there in brackets?
A good poster like yourself can't possibly think Oviedo should be anywhere near our first 11 surely?
He's an absolute liability.

They dont care. They'll just agitate and get a move out to another club.

i honestly think you give these players too much credit. About the only thing they're discerning about outside of CL football to play in is the size of their bank account.

As said: they will literally go to any club that can pay their wages - which are usually those not involved in relegation scraps. That's their agent's and their own sole concern if there's no CL on offer.

He's our back up left back. If Baines isn't fit, he plays.

Funes is more of a liability there, and Oviedo isn't as bad as people make out.

Suppose another option would be playing a back three as another poster suggested.

In the interests of debate and balance, which you so keen to espouse, can you do me a favour a stop telling me what my thoughts are. Equally, debate works by offering opinion as argument, not your opinion as fact which you have done in your past two posts.

My opinion is that Everton under Moshiri, with added promise of spending and introduction of a high profile manager are far more attractive to players than they were under Martinez and Kenwright. European football is obviously a draw for players, as is money and, by proxy, status. Its human to want more money for performing the same job, let's not pretend footballers are a different species. The problem Everton currently have is that we don't have the attraction of Europe to draw in high profile players over the likes of Bolasie.
