Why do some on here just have to run our players down at any opportunity? I find it odd that instead of trying to see the good in our players, loads choose to focus on the negatives all the time. In my opinion, Bolasie had a poor second half along with the rest of his teammates, but this constant mention of his price tag is getting tedious now. Just because he's our record signing (or close to it, can't remember the fee) doesn't mean he's expected to be our best ever player does it? Football has changed now and players are now being signed for £15m+ more than what they would have a few years ago. So in the very near future I am sure Bolasie will no longer be our record signing.

Now on to the actual performances. As noted on page 336 of this thread Bolasie is actually leading the league along with Kevin De Bruyne for big opportunities created. If our players don't stick it in the back of the net as a result, how is that a negative on Bolasie? I can think of numerous chances that Bolasie has created this season which have been put on a plate for his team mates that they have failed to finish from about 8 yards or less. Lukaku, Barkley, Valencia and now Gueye, although that was a good block by the defender.

So if Valencia had have scored last week from 6 yards out and Gueye last night we'd be looking at 3 more points thanks to Bolasie creating those clear cut chances.

Bolasie is far from being one of the league's best players and lacks consistency but he's made a good start to his Everton career and he is going to have some ineffective games. Why some feel the need to constantly have a go at him and other players is beyond me.

Right? So far today I have read that bolasie is currently along side De bruyne for "BIG opportunities " created... and that ross in currently third behind tadic and someone else ( can't remember who I read" , in opportunitles created? First off... I didn't realise chances where filed in different categories such as BIG and if our number 10 and main winger are the top 2 creators in the league... why aren't we winning? This means rom has been missing sitters every game? Stats are not a way to judge a player... using your eyes is..

Benteke is quality, but Rom is the better goalscorer, just. If only we had both we'd be a nightmare to defend against.

This in spades.... I would have paid 30m for benteke.... having both would have made us so strong up front... both total quality players with totally different qualities

The two 'positive' plays Bolasie makes...

A-- Receives the ball, rolls it over his foot, runs forward head down, crosses the ball randomly into the box.

B-- Receives the ball, rolls is over his foot, looks up sees a shooting opportunity, misses.

£22-28mil and cannot be dropped by Koeman + who on earth would want to buy him from us?

Were stuck with the clown.

Better off playing Deulofeu on the right every game till hes back in form than this guy there.

If he has to play it should be on the left and he should be told just to run towards goal and fall over when he gets into the box and someone touches him...

Missed a 1 on 1 at West Brom, and a header at Sunderland. Barkley missed at West Brom, Valencia at Bournemouth and Gueye on Friday so various players. Bolasie can only create the chances for them.

Obviously Bolasie needs to improve on his consistency along with his teammates but as a winger surely creating good opportunities is a big part of his game which he's done well with?

He stood out at West Brom when he came on and was arguably MOTM at Sunderland. I thought he was awful at Bournemouth like the rest of them and in the second half the other night, along with the rest of them.

He's set up at least 2 good chances per-game so far - again he should have had another assist on Friday - Gana missed a sitter.

I agree mate. But the stick he gets is unbelievable. And, lo and behold, it's the same posters over and over again digging in in every thread...

I only discovered the ignore button this last week, so most of them are on ignore now. Got no problem with negative posts as long as they are fair and the posters actually post some positives too.

There are some on here who have to be negative in every post. As if it makes them more knowledgeable in some way. Very boring.

We're also in 5th position which to me shows we've had a decent start to the season.

Did you think that Lukaku looked the better player on Friday?

I reckon Benteke is quality.
So we base everything on one game
The only area Benteke has any advantage is in the air, if we wanted that we could of gone for Crouch

Let's not get confused over the merits of Lukaku and Benteke based on a single performance
