I like him. He creates a couple of genuine goal scoring opportunities every game.
This all day long, our best winger by a country mile. Like the look of the lad and even when not at the top of his game (which happens to every player) he is knocking his nuts out and not hiding.

This.

Look at the chances he has created so far which have/should have resulted in goals.

West Brom (away): Cross for Barkley header - missed
West Brom (away): Pass for Lukaku one on one - missed
Sunderland (away): Cross for Lukaku header - missed
Sunderland (away): Cross for Lukaku header - scored
Sunderland (away): Throughball for a Lukaku one v one - missed
Middlesbrough (home): Cross for Lukaku - scored
Bournemouth (away): Cross for Valencia - missed
Palace (home): Pass to Gueye for an open goal - missed

Not bad for a player with 'no end product'...

S

So we base everything on one game
The only area Benteke has any advantage is in the air, if we wanted that we could of gone for Crouch

Let's not get confused over the merits of Lukaku and Benteke based on a single performance
It was just a general question. I found it quite interesting to watch Belgium's two competing strikers playing at opposite ends.

I'd rather have Benteke, but then Lukaku pulled away from him a bit last season, so I can see why others think differently.

I was in Lille when we played them and was talking to Belgium lads who had come over the border for the game

I asked them who was the better, and they laughed and said Lukaku

At a loss you think Benteke is better than Lukaku

Try not to judge him on his price tag, not his doing. Judge him on his football and i'm getting exactly what I expected, money is irrelevant these days.

With the right forward line he is going to be real dangerous for us, been good what we have seen so far from him, just need things to click into place with the rest of the attack .

Not really having that, he's got supposedly one of the best strikers in the league (if not Europe) up front to pass to.

The Belgian lads I spoke to in town were much less complimentary about Lukaku during the Euros.

He's a funny one. Can't argue with his goal record, but he's a can crusher for me.

I guess Chelsea/Juventus wanting Lukaku and only Palace wanting Benteke tells a story

As does the fact that two clubs have saw fit to spend over £60m between them to get Benteke in the last 12 months, whereas Lukaku's big money moves appear to exist only in his head.

He's set up at least 2 good chances per-game so far - again he should have had another assist on Friday - Gana missed a sitter.

Im going against the grain and consider it a very good block by their defender who was in a perfect position.

Bolasie may be "creating" chances, but tbh its not from skill per se, its him knocking in crosses without looking after being given the ball 9/10 attacks.

Maybe its just me but it seems that ALL our attacks go through him bar anyone making a run forward with the ball.

Im hard pressed to give him credit when hes not even looking when he randomly puts in crosses...i mean by the law of averages someone will eventually score lol

Missed a 1 on 1 at West Brom, and a header at Sunderland. Barkley missed at West Brom, Valencia at Bournemouth and Gueye on Friday so various players. Bolasie can only create the chances for them.

Obviously Bolasie needs to improve on his consistency along with his teammates but as a winger surely creating good opportunities is a big part of his game which he's done well with?

He stood out at West Brom when he came on and was arguably MOTM at Sunderland. I thought he was awful at Bournemouth like the rest of them and in the second half the other night, along with the rest of them.

Sorry... I wasn't actually having a go about bolasie... it was more to do with the fact people are obsessed with stats... so bolasie is joint top in the league with de bruyne... yet ross is 3rd apparently behind two different players according to people in the ross Barkley thread... obviously both statements cannot be true

Disagree
Liverpool paid stupid money for a player who had a purple patch, Palace were desperate for a forward and he was one of a few that would take the step down...the fee paid was madness but guess it is standard for players in this money frenzied world of football
I Lukakus case we got him on loan after a successful spell at WBA, we had him for the season and he helped us in our best points total ever. We then signed him and he went on to have another successful season in relation to scoring goals

The point is Lukaku is proven

I don't think he puts them in randomly .. he puts curl and pace on them and puts them into dangerous areas... basically the gap between the keeper and the defenders... nothing wrong with that IMO... that's what wingers should be doing
