Im not saying they shouldnt comment! I just dont see why people get so bent out of shape about it.

Its like watching a film and getting angry about how much Tom Hanks gets paid for his role if he doesnt do a good job.

I only really care about what happens on the pitch, I don't care how or why the players get onto said pitch.
I know what you mean, but it's not quite the same. Few people have an emotional attachment to a film studio in the way football fans do to their clubs.

To me it's just a case of spending money wisely, as if you don't you won't get where you want to be. We obviously have a finite amount of money, and the more we spend on players who don't push us to the mythical 'next level', the less we have to spend on players who will. I'm pretty sure you wouldn't be happy if we sold Lukaku for £1m, or if we'd accepted £500k for Stones. It's exactly the same thing though isn't it? Not your money, not your problem. The difference being that Everton spending money probably makes you feel good, while selling players on the cheap makes you think we're being fleeced. I just look at them both the same way.

It was an over the top point, but it's still what can happen if you don't care, Portsmouth and Leeds etc all fell down that way. I'd rather we didn't.

They didnt go into administration because a bunch of people on a forum didnt care that that Nwankwo Kanu cost a few million more than his going rate.

We cant affect anything, moaning about how much a player costs wont change anything or give us a refund so why bother about it?

Writing him off after 10 games, because nobody had seen him play before. I mean seriously come on, we all knew what we were getting before he came. writing him off haha jeez.

Shush lad, I said discussion over, you don't care about our finances, i do. no more to say.

Honestly as long as we were doing well on the pitch it wouldnt bother me. I would assume there was a very good reason why they were sold for that amount. Its not the same though is it? Paying what we did for Bolasie isnt the same as selling a 60M striker for a quid or whatever.

We wanted the player, Palace gave us what they deemed an acceptable fee and we paid it. Nothing wrong with that. Prices are mad these days anyway.

I have nothing against caring about fees paid etc and having an interest in it. I just don't get the fuming that comes with it as it really doesnt change anything.

He is one of the first components of Koeman's new team. At least wait and see how he fits in when the rest of the team is around him.

He hasnt even been that bad! At least he has looked bothered which is an improvement.

I know we spend 75% of our possession looking for a bloke who can barely control it on the wing and we wonder why we are under the cosh. Yes he chips in, no where near as much as he should for the amount of ball he sees but of course he'll chip in we give him the ball more than any other player. He's not good enough, be honest with yourself.

Well he wouldn't have been my choice to fill that role to be honest.

I am in a weird place here with Everton right now. I didn't want Koeman in the first place as I don't really rate him as a manager (he's not awful or anything..). But I am a believer in giving any manager a fair crack which means I have to trust him regarding Bolasie and what he has brought him in for.

I've stated a few times, I'm more against the players at this moment than Koeman, he still has good grace for the time being, I just want to see some improvement.

Of course it's not exactly the same, but it's taking your point to its natural conclusion. You either care about fees or you don't. As I said, I'm not sure that getting ripped off by £5m is much different to getting ripped off by £50m in the long run.

In my opinion the issue with Bolasie is not whether he's 'worth' £15m or £20m or £50m to any other side, it's whether we needed to pay what we did for him. My opinion is that his position was one we were relatively alright in, and there were other areas in which improvements were more vital. I just think to be seen as a good signing he needs to do much better than the players in his position did last year, and I'm not sure that he is at the moment.

Obviously my opinion counts for nothing in that regard - the manager thought he was a good signing and that's all that matters in reality - but this is a forum for giving opinions so I moan about it on here.

To be fair I havn't said that people shouldnt moan about it or are wrong to do so, its just personally not something that concerns me too much.

I do think people are living in the past somewhat in regards to what players cost these days though.

Yeah I wasn't knocking you mate, I just mean in general. We all know that moaning doesn't change anything, whether it's about the cost of a new player or the tactics on the pitch, but we vent about it regardless.

As I said, I appreciate that prices have gone up in general. Normally i'd have been up in arms about us paying £10m+ for a 32 year old like Ashley Williams but I wasn't too concerned this time because a) costs have gone up for everybody, and b) we needed a solid centre half as a priority. Obviously 'a' applies for Bolasie too, but 'b' doesn't in my opinion, that's why I think the fee is relevant.

And while he's been far from consistent, the fact still remains that Bolasie is our most productive player in terms of creativity.

Bar the Chelsea match, he has created at least one (if not more) clear-cut chances per-game and/or assisted a goal/scored.

Stats don't mean everything, but they do back up the fact that Bolasie has been no where near as poor as some make out.

If we went to a pub and the barman gave you 2 pints and me 10 pints.

I would drink more than you.

If Bolasie gets the ball more and more game time than any other winger he will do more with it.

In my example, if you were given 2 pints and he was given 10 pints he would spill 9 pints and you would drink more than him.

But the difference is that Deulofeu is hardly getting a sip.
