Yannick Bolasie

I thought Deulofeu looked more dangerous this time last year, his crossing in particular was spectacular, Give Him the game time Bolasie is getting and see who is the better provider and scorer, I know who my money would be on.

I did read it. You say it as if it's fact when it's just your opinion. Perhaps 'all of our play' has gone through him because he's a lot better than the other options.

Can you honestly say Mirallas looked better last year than Bolasie does this year? Maybe it's not a coincidence that the current manager and the last one don't rate him.

You didn't answer my other points by the way.

No, and again, I have pointed out how bad Mirallas is time and time again, and been vaulted every time once in a blue moon he has a good game, mostly by MoutsGoat.

That really isn't the point. The point is that Bolasie isn't that much better, if at all. And for the money he cost, that is a desperately poor signing.

Absolutely. Bolasie is now at his level and won't improve, given this is now the same player we've seen for years at different clubs now; Deulofeu is the same level in my view and could be much better, if he improved his stamina.

You only improve that with a run of games. If Bolasie was blowing me away with his performances, then fine, it wouldn't be a discussion. But he simply isn't, so why bother? At the very least, drop him when he's been as bad as he has been lately to give him a boot up the arse - how did he last 90 minutes in the last game when he stunk the place out?

Can't justify dropping our most expensive signing, that's how it seems anyway. He's actually terrible, worse than I thought. Why did he always turn up against us and look dynamite. He's worse than inconsistent, he's mainly bad with the odd glimpse of magic.

Del is 22 and has almost more career assists in the top flight than Bolasie.

Bolasie can do nothing worthwhile all match and then pop-up with an assist. In fact, he has been doing that an awful lot. Four assists and a goal in ten matches isn't exactly outstanding but it is good. It is very good when compared against the rest of our squad right now.

He deserves his place in the team, along with Williams and Gueye. Everyone else can get to you know what.

It has nothing to do with the fact that he's our most productive player after Lukaku so far this season and fits how Koeman wants to play more than the other wingers available?

Koeman broke S'ton's record signing fee to buy Tadic. He dropped him.

Stop talking nonsense.

Spot on, in fact Bolasie, Williams and Gueye have been our best 3 players this season OK i guess you might have to add Lukaku as well because of his goal tally.

While we have moaned out the summer window being poor, and the price of Bolasie, its a shame the players we allready had at the club, such as Deulofeu, Mirallas, Barkley, Lennon, McCarthy and one or two others havent contributed much on the field, but because of the inflated price tag people single out a player who has in fact done a good job for us

So we are writing a player off after ten games?

Not so much writing him off after a mere ten games, Papa.

Bolasie was a known quantity when we bought him.

He has been around the EPL for years and played exactly the same way we have seen him play during those years.

That is why there was a collective "you wha?" On here when it was learned we were buying him and at such an over the top price.

(that said, the bugger ripped us a new one at Goodison a couple of times in recent years )

Now, if he was a young player or one making the step up from a lower league or a foreign player coming in and needing time to acclimatise, I would very much echo your sentiments and ask those writing him off to have patience.

But this guy is 27 or 28 and has been around for ages......what we are seeing is pretty much all that is in his locker.

There seems little scope for improvement IMO.

That's too easy though. Too simplistic.

There was uproar when Gueye signed because of what he did at Villa (though I think a lot didn't actually watch him there...)

Thing is people are (rightly) saying that Koeman needs time to get his team the way he wants it.

So why doesnt this extend to players as well?

Bolasie may be a perfect fit to what Koeman wants to do, maybe its the rest of the players (ie not his players) that are the problem and Bolasie will play better in the right system with the right players?

He has been very up and down so far, as he has been for a lot of his career, but at least he has shown something to say he may be a useful player for us. Ten games is way too soon at a new club.

And therein lies the rub......Gueye cost a fraction of the price of Bolasie.

If we had paid Palace a reasonable amount of money there wouldn't be half the controversy there is about the latter.

:(

As I keep saying.....the issue with Bolassie is as much to do with the money we spent on him as with his general crapness.
