I hope you pitchfork carriers are happy.

This is a major blow. He provided us with some power and pace we didn't have previously. His absence will hurt us big time.

To say people hate the guy is a bit extreme.
I would imagine that there are a great many like myself who are vastly disappointed with his performances to date and who expected a lot more from the guy. I think that him being saddled with his transfer fee and not playing anywhere near what is expected of someone who cost that amount has contributed to the criticism aimed at him.
I may be wrong, but I don't honestly see him being missed too much, but wish him well in his recovery.

He has been our best attacker mate.

Maybe that's just more a sad reflection on how crap the others are, but it's true.

Time for Del to step up.

at least @Zatara will be chuffed

I'm not a doctor but it appears that the impact of Bolasie's knee hitting the synthetic surface that borders the pitch caused the injury. Hate plastic pitches. Club ought to bin it going forward.

Everton winger Yannick Bolasie will have knee surgery after scans confirmed he suffered serious ligament damage against Manchester United on Sunday.

Bolasie, 27, signed for Everton from Crystal Palace in a £25m deal in August, making 13 Premier League appearances this season.

The DR Congo international was injured in the 68th minute of Sunday's 1-1 draw at Goodison.

He spent four seasons with Palace after joining from Bristol City in 2012.

The club have not set any timescale for Bolasie's recovery.

Don't forget, this man had an injury which could very well keep him out for an entire calendar year and he still got back to his feet to play in the blue shirt.

Anyone doubting him really needs to sort themselves out.

He won't be the same player.

I assume that's him out till next season too?

TBF, guys can now come back from these ACL injuries to where they were previously. But the biggest problem isn't the physical rehab, but the mental one, to be able to trust it, etc. He should be ready with guns blazing for opening day next season with a full summer.

Feel sorry for the lad. Don't understand the haters. He was playing the best he could, regardless of cost. The expectation is based on the money, something he would not have control of. He just wanted to play footy, and get handsomely paid for it. As all players do!
An injury like this can end a career, or at the very least set it back a lot. Knee surgery is never good. Going to be sidelined for a long time, and even then, he may never get back in the team, as by then we ought to have a permanent replacement. Maybe someone else the haters can hate.

the second he did it,and was in pain,i thought knee ligaments right away, and out for a few months or longer, was surprised to see him get up and try his best to carry on
Said it all yesterday, very surprised to see him carry on,expect 6-9 months, back sometime early next season, feel sorry for the lad,i like him, people moan about him,but at least he ran,and put some unreal crosses in the box that our lazy players never attempted to get on the end of,the sort of crossing other teams would love,he off course put in some very bad ones, but at least he never give up attempting things, even when they didnt go right

Yeah, when i saw his initial reaction it looked like ACL to me, or at least MCL. But then I saw him trying to stay in and running around out there and I was optimistic. But i agree with this comment wholeheartedly - for him to try to stay in that game speaks volumes. Fair play to him.
