To say people hate the guy is a bit extreme.
I would imagine that there are a great many like myself who are vastly disappointed with his performances to date and who expected a lot more from the guy. I think that him being saddled with his transfer fee and not playing anywhere near what is expected of someone who cost that amount has contributed to the criticism aimed at him.
I may be wrong, but I don't honestly see him being missed too much, but wish him well in his recovery.

Great post.

absolutely gutted for the kid.

not sure how that hasn't been picked up from the physios immediately as he went back out for a few minutes that surely has done more harm than good. will ask the missus what she thinks of it when she gets in.

would imagine that's him out for at least 6 months minimum, probably 9-12.

horrible for the lad and probably one of the only players who was averaging a 6/7 rating compared to some of the other dross served up the past few weeks.

I hope you pitchfork carriers are happy.

This is a major blow. He provided us with some power and pace we didn't have previously. His absence will hurt us big time.

How?

Seriously......how will his absence "hurt us big time"?

He has had the odd good touch and occasionally crosses the ball in from the wing.

Most the time however he is anonymous.

When he went off yesterday the team came to life.

He has been an awful waste of money IMO.

You can be certain anyone who thinks that this isn't bad news is not an Evertonian, we are really going to miss him.

It's devastating news. He might blow hot & cold but his work ethic, attitude, pace on the counter made us at times blistering & unpredictable. Not one other player offers ALL of that. Closest is Geri, but doesn't have same strength or work rate

Gambler's Fallacy to link hopes here to outcome and totally illogical.

Also, we aren't down to three - we've got Oviedo who can also play there, plus Ross has done it before, as has Kone, and even (heaven forbid) Snivelley. We've also virtually guaranteed to have Depay join us. It's extremely unfortunate but not the apocalypse that would be Lukaku getting injured

And we can fetch Aidso back from loan

Come on Aiden....now is the hour ;)
