The simple truth of this is that he will never be the same player due to the type of player he is. Fast speed and power. All gone with that type of injury. I had the same. Best of luck to him. It will be tough. Could be 2 years before he played again at top level and will be difficult journey.

feel bad for the guy. hope he does make a full recovery. it amazes me how players come back from these types of injurys. remeber how bad ramseys leg break was, yet he came back stronger than ever.

we will have to do yet more business in january. losing our best creative player for the season is not good.
Leg break is much easier to come back than knee ligaments. I agree with what some say here. His pace power won't be near the same ever again. Seems like a nice lad. Must be devastating for him.

Apparently without setbacks he is looking for a January 2018 return

However realistically I've heard that this could be even longer and with fitness and match time needed once ready to play we wouldn't see him back to his best (if he ever reaches those levels again) until pre season 2018, by which time he would be 30 more than likely past his best and with much less pace.

I think sadly we will never see him as good as he has been again and will have to accept that we have lost out big time here

Btw, the 'news' last night isn't news.

King literally had no quotes saying it would be a year - it's sensationalism.

Common sense with this type of injury is 9 months out - we knew that.

It was always going to be Sept/Oct by the time he was nearing a return, so it was always likely to be Xmas next year by the time he was match fit.

To be fair, he must have been briefed as The Mirror and Echo also went with more or less exactly the same story at exactly the same time

Oh they'll have been briefed mate, I'm sure - but the quotes themselves are purely the ones from Koeman's presser, so it's not even embargoed quotes.

I'm not saying it's untrue, I'm just saying it's not really news. As soon as it was confirmed ACL, then you know it's a year before they're coming back.
