Cleverley came through their youth setup & Kone had a pretty much 1 in 2 goal ratio at PSV, hence the move to Sevilla.

Bolasie has been a journeyman through 7 tosh sides and we end up lumbered with him. 31 goals in nearly 300 appearances? His goalscoring ratio is nearly 1 in 10, which is abysmal for an attacking midfielder/winger.

According to Wikipedia (I know I know) Kone's and CLEVERLEY'S goalscoring records are better than Bolasie's, in far superior sides against better opposition.
Some would say your goal scoring record should be better when playing for better sides...it's easier and you'll naturally get more chances.

True that.

Bolasie is utter poo.

Worst signing in our history.

Not his fault, but we spent around 25m on him and handed him a 5-year deal on around 60/70k a week only for him to pick up a career-changing injury within the first 20 games of his Everton career.

17m in wages over 5 years, plus 25m signing fee (total 42m) = appalling and definitely worst signing in the history of Everton FC.

I could name you 20 worse that contributed f all.
For all of his inconsistencies Bolasie does actually have some quality to him. Did over pay mind.

I agree we had worse players, that's true, but in terms of value for money and contribution given money paid on fee and wages, he definitely tops the list by some distance, for me. Like I said, not his fault regarding the fee or his injury, but those factors make him, for me, way out as our worst ever signing. Couldn't believe us getting linked to him, didn't want ot believe the rumours of us going in for him, then horrified when we eventually signed him.

We signed someone last season who would comfortably be a worse signing...

Wages surely covered by insurance if a player is unable to play, and medical fees certainly will be. PLayers have come back from similar injuries, and its good to see he's still around GP and Finch Farm supporting the team.

As he said when he moved, he moved to us when he believed he was good enough. He could have moved on from palace earlier, but felt he still had development to do, i find that very commendable and is partly the reason for his seemingly slow rise. Much better than these kids moving to chelsea at the first hint of movement and never playing for them.

Ashley williams moved to third tier swansea when he was 26 after spending his whole career flirting with conference level, so he was 27 before even playing championship level, i think he was near 30 before he even made his premier league debut. Some players are just late bloomers.
