An obscene amount of money, I agree, but if he signs then whatever, it's done.

Some perspective.

Supposedly he was crap last season, and yes, after getting 4 goals and 11 assists in 14/15, he failed to kick on.

However, here are his stats from last term, compared with our current wingers:

- Bolasie: Goals 6, Assists 6 (GAMES: 31)

- Mirallas: Goals 6, Assists 3 (GAMES: 30)

- Del: Goals 4, Assists 13 (GAMES: 33)

- Lennon: Goals 6, Assists 2 (GAMES 31)

So, while I am in no way saying that justifies what is an extremely ridiculous fee, stats wise, even in an apparently 'awful' season, and despite being inconsistent, he still had more impact than any of our wingers bar Del in terms of goals/assists.

Bare in mind, he also spent plenty of games last year playing up top as a central forward, and offers something different to what our wingers - who as good as they are are very similar types of players - do in terms of sheer power.

Massive fee. Too much for my liking but at the end of the day, I'm not massively fussed. If the club want him and are willing to pay that much, so be it. Too many wannabe chairmen on here.

@paulbefc -- the post I mentioned mate

For all those who are going to cry themselves to sleep tonight, rest at ease my friends, because if he's as woeful as being described, we will never have to turn this into a £30m transfer, as the add ons will never be activated.

I'd argue we need people to supply Rom more, not fanny around doing turns on the wing, we've got Del for that.

But Bolasie can't pass or cross as good as Del so it's just a weird buy.

We have Baines on the left, Del on the right and Barkley (sometimes) in the middle. He can get enough if the tactics are right, having Bolasie bombing at their right back will cause all sorts of problems even if he doesn't score/assist; he terrifies people. Baines will get a lot more room I reckon.

That's a ridiculous fee for him, based on his performances to date.

However, there's no doubt that if we play a counter attacking game, this lad's pace will be very useful. End product is a concern, but I wouldn't write him off. This could work out ok alright as long as we don't try and play him in a Martinez-style possession-based game, which we won't.

As I've put in my last post mate, his end product last term (even in a 'crap' campaign) was better than any of our wingers bar Deulofeu...
