The problem with Bolasie is that when he receives the ball he doesn't seem to have the football brain to think about the quick pass to the next man or the give & go created by the guy who passed it to him.
Both Baines & Seamus can play this way but Bolasie cant so it kills all forward momentum so we end up playing it backwards for the inevitable hoof.

This, a good winger will pick the ball up and instantly know what they want to do with it, Bolasie gets the ball, then has to get a pen and paper to draw diagrams of what he wants to do with it.

This moment is alongside him constantly breaking up attacks as well though. If you look at those three for Liverpool and their ball retention in the final third, it's brilliant. Bolasie gives the attack no cohesion.

I'm sure Liverpool themselves will be throwing all kinds of money at us. The only player who could make the journey across the park and receive a better reception the next time he returns to Goodison.

Put it within context that he's still getting over his injury, and it gets even more foggy.

I will say this - depending on tactics of the incoming D of F and whoever he hires as a manager, he probably shouldn't be starting. But even with Lookman, Onyekuru, and whoever else can play as a wide attacker or inside forward, none of those guys is a true winger, and Bolasie can play both on the right and left sides as a true winger. He's a valuable bench and tactical option. Not sure he's more than that, but that's not completely worthless.

I'm not sure if we'll be able to turn down vulgar bids of up to seventeen pence and a half eaten Chomp bar, but damn it I'd like to see us stand up to that type of intimidation by these clubs with all the dough.
