What people rarely appreciate about Yannick is that is first touch is immaculate. It means he can take it under pressure, hold off his marker with his strength and stretch the game with his pace.

Yes his final ball isn't all that. Yes his limbs are everywhere sometimes.

But he is EXACTLY what we need at the moment.

It's amazing how brilliant dodgy players become when they are nowhere near the team. He will be just as underwhelming when he returns from injury as he was prior to it.

The guy was top for assists at Everton when he got injured. What more can you expect from a tricky winger. Perhaps more sideways and backwards passes.

What.....someone whose final ball “isn’t all that”

:p

When the whole squad is fully fit he starts every game, can see him working great with Niasse as both players will run all day, but his return will be massive for us

Then our options out wide are as dire as those up front and at the back. Sad times.

Yes agree with you, assuming at a minimum we need to spend 50m + this January to bring in striker, CB and others and they will be decent journeymen and no more for that price. Then.... i posted this on another thread.... over a year we may end up spending 200m ++ only to end up with a team equal to our team last season ( good chance will actually be a weaker team).

Was our best winger before he got injured, and the stats proved that.

Was something like 4/5 assists for Lukaku and could have had more as there were games he laid on chances for the likes of Lukaku & Ross to bury but neither did.

Almost certain he was top of our 'Chances Created' before he got injured too. Yes his final ball may be absolutely awful, but he creates issues for teams and actually creates chances, something this team right now isnt doing.

imagine them two running at a defence full tilt, ball bobbling everywhere, no idea what either of them are even thinking, i think the defenders best bet would probably be just to close his eyes and run forward with both arms stretched out hoping to take out one or both
