Was our best winger before he got injured, and the stats proved that.

Was something like 4/5 assists for Lukaku and could have had more as there were games he laid on chances for the likes of Lukaku & Ross to bury but neither did.

Almost certain he was top of our 'Chances Created' before he got injured too. Yes his final ball may be absolutely awful, but he creates issues for teams and actually creates chances, something this team right now isnt doing.

His final ball may be erratic, but it isn't "awful", there were some delicious balls he put in last season

I didn't want us to sign him but I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of chances he created - the fact he was being used as an "out" ball by Koeman wound me up a bit though as it was doing us no favours

Regardless, despite stats telling you how effective he had been and the naked eye showing you the assists he had made and the sitters he had put on a plate for people to spurn, some people just will never like him because he's so unorthodox

The problem I have is that we spent £30m on this lad when there was obviously so much better around (probably would've been £50m this summer). And what did we get? A player who has scored 13 goals in 144 games. It's hardly the figure you'd expect to see from such an outlay.

Throw in the fact he must completely infuriating for our players to be alongside. You can't develop any link up play down the side he's on because he's such a 'head down' player. That really doesn't lend itself well to our style of play over recent years with the full backs pushing up.

There'll be games when he absolutely terrorises the opposition but they'll be few and far between. Impact player from the bench for me.

So keen to have him back in the first team, we hardly got to see him settle into the system before he got injured.

He was a lot better than I thought in terms of creativity.

Just as bad as I knew in terms of goalscoring.

Terrible waste of money.

However would walk into our current team and be one of our best players.

The Niasse/Gylfi/Bolasie instead of Lukaku/Barkley/Deulofeu nightmare is close.

He’s not crap....he’s nowhere near a £30m player.....he’s ok

I wish some people would stop getting over exited as he wasn’t great last time and is likely to be a little worse this time given the injury.

Don’t set yourself up to be disappointed

If there’s one things scousers excel at it’s calling things sh1t. If something is below par then the lids clamber all over each other to say it’s “fkn sh1t” so they seem like they’re not easy to impress infront of their lid mates. They’ll rush to be the first one to say it and won’t deviate from their opinion.

Hasn't really had long to settle in when he got injured, so hard to judge how good he really is in are team.
Looking forward to him coming back, will put other teams on the back foot something we are lacking at the moment.
