2017/18 Yannick Bolasie

Years ago before substitutes were used, if a player got an injury and the game was important, the manager would stick him
on the wing just for nuisance value. Which proved that being a winger meant it was a good place to hide. Locally we had playing
Johnny Morrisey, Steve Coppell, Brian Hall & Trevor Steven, wingers that never shirked a tackle week- in week- out.
Bolasie looked good in Palace colours and apart from being over-priced I thought he was a good buy. Early on he looked the part,
then he got the 'Benteke bug', something quite common these days. I think we should get him in for Christmas and get him out
in January.

Whats the 'Benteke bug' ?

Spot on, ready made excuse for him.

My hope is that he has lost a yard of pace, as maybe that will trigger into life his seldom used brain on the pitch instead.

I hope hes going to come back good as new....then hes off in Jan to he highest bidder...

Before he was injured his speciality with us was hugging the touchline, getting the ball caught between his feet then running it out of play. We've been that bad that we've actually been pining for him, forgetting that he's been rubbish most of his career. Who knows what he'll offer once he's back. At least he was/is quick.

Don't forget the way he rolls the ball over his foot...every...single....time.

Are you saying you wouldn't want him in this current Everton team??

In the same way I wouldn't want a popeye version of McGeady...

People remember him as some sort of Ronaldo figure, he was average at best, see how he does but I dont think he will be a first team starter.

Who knows what will happen....I really hope allardyce knows that he flatters to deceive and gets us part of our money back.

He was our best performer before he got injured, and I don't think anyone (bar Lukaku) has out preformed him since then to be honest.

Punt ball to Bolasie were the tactics...

He had so much of the ball it was ridiculous and spent most of his time doing daft things or ballooning crosses.

I'd imagine after so long out with such a bad injury he'll be used as an impact sub, which just might end up as his best position.

I seem to recall the vast majority calling it a massive waste of 27m based on his performances up until the point of his injury. He even got the mickey taken out of him when he got injured due to the innocuous nature of it. I wish the lad well in his come back, but praising him as our season saviour might be a touch premature.

Everyone forgets his effort. HE was the one that threw his body on the line to get that touch for rom’s Goal against city and HE was the one who wanted the ball first in the box to assist Rom against West Ham.

I like they guy, we overpaid for me no question about it but he petrifies opposition defenders through his fantastic skill level, blinding pace annd unpredictability. I hope he comes back to the same levels as he would be a fantastic option for us to have, unfortunately hopeful is all I am at this point as his injury was truly horrendous.

Watched the youtube video of him from last season and I can't wait to see him play again. He is similiar to Lookman in the fact that they can provide those moments of excitement.

He is a massive threat with his pace, imagine Rooney spraying a ball through to him, he will be a different dimension to what we already have and will help our transition no end and be great support for DCL.

The best compliment I can pay him is I always dreaded playing Palace at Goodison because he was in their team. Needs to be given a chance to replicate that quality IMO. No doubt he was one of our better players before he got injured a year ago.

Allardyce rates him, and a reckon he himself will appreciate his management style (as backwards as that sounds considering the type of player he is).

While I hope for a stellar return, I do think people will quickly begin to remember what drove them crazy about Bolaise. Namely, the 14 stepovers before getting the ball taken off of him while players sat in the box waiting. Hopefully its more of the good crosses and less of that this time around!

Hes not the instant solution to offensive problems, but hes better going forward than Lennon.
