Confirmed Signing Yerry Mina

Lyon's CEO Jean-Michel Aulas has just said they're in a battle with Everton for him, but doesn't think the player will go to a team not in the champions league.

If Yerrys uncle has anything to do with it it’s not going to be Everton, infact we was never an option.

That article opens by saying we're looking to play with 3 centre backs and wingbacks under Silva, and there's been zero indication that that will be the case. Quite the opposite in fact. I'd take anything that says with a big pinch of salt.

I think we will get Digne but no Yerry

Agreed, think we'll end up with Digne and our 2rd or 3rd choice after Mina.

If Mina chooses Lyon because of the CL he’s a fool. Lyon would be lucky to get out of a group most seasons so at most he’ll have 6 games, 4 of which will probably feature him being embarrassed by European heavyweights. The rest of the season he will be playing absolute dross in Ligue 1 getting no visibility whatsoever. He’d be better playing premier league football every week against better players if he wants to convince a Madrid or Barcelona to take him in the future.

I thought Lyon were pretty gash against us in both games but the prospect of seeing PSG win the league again and playing in the CL is a huge bonus.

Not so sure mate - Marco Silva sometimes does go for 3 centre backs.

“4-3-3, I can tell you," Silva said, when asked how Everton play set up under him.

“Of course, it is the system I have played more.

"One second season I used 4-4-2 and sometimes last season three at the back in some moments but 4-3-3 is my system, depending on my No6."

Given our dearth of decent centre backs I'd be amazed if that was the case, except maybe in tough away games when we look to play on the break. 4-3-3 for the vast majority I would wager.
