Yes it is a crazy fee but 35 million now was the equivalent of 15 million a few seasons back. So when you look at it like that he is about 5 million more than a Ramiro Funes Mori.

Or in last years money, about 12 million less than we got for John Stones.

Spurs spent over 40 mill on Sanchez a year ago. He played for Ajax with Klaasen. Mina played for Barca with Iniesta. I'd be delighted with £35 mill.

In a way West is right. You'd only get that sort of money from a PL club - as I unsuccessfully attempted to point out to people last night - and it is crazy that we're giving Barcelona a £20m profit on a player who has failed with them and they actively want to get rid of. Let's not beat around the bush with that, it's not a 'sensible' deal in those terms.

Where he's out of order though, is suggesting that we only want him because he scored for Colombia, which is extremely disrespectful to our manager and DoF. It's also a valid point that very few deals in the PL are sensible, and all those pointing out that the same hasn't been said about Allisson, Kepa, Jorginho etc are quite right. It's a rather unnecessary dig at both the player and the club in my opinion, not very becoming of a BBC journalist.
