Cultural stereotypes for the purpose of parody and entertainment are 'racist' now then...

I guess somebody best let the lads at South Park, Family Guy, The Simpsons and so on know that they're massive bigots I guess.

We all know not every Colombian is on cocaine ffs, same way we know not every British person has bad teeth and lives next door to the Queen. Why is this hard for the Twitter Outrage Generation to bloody understand?

The difference is, those are funny, that song isn't. It's lame, and when the "offensive" things are the sole basis of it, with nothing redeeming, that's when it becomes an issue. Like, we got a black Colombian player, we need a song about his big dick and cocaine habit. Doesn't mention Everton or football or his ability or anything relevant once.

All the people defending it and saying people are offended too easily nowadays, what are you defending? It's a terrible song, not funny in the slightest and looks bad on us as a whole. I honestly don't know what's so hard to understand.

I imagine on instruction of his club and Kick It Out.

perhaps but at the end of the day it's racial stereotyping, of all the things you could sing about the first thing that comes to mind is 'well he's black, he must have a big cock'... its not a good look, no matter how you spin it.

is there any malicious intent behind it ? almost certainly not but doesn't change the fact its cringey as hell having thousands of white people sing about a black mans big knob.

Nonsense. The evaluation of it isn't based on how funny it is - it's based on intent. The intent is parody and entertainment, specifically support, via stereotype.

A bad joke that is similar to a good joke isn't racist because it's less funny.

What am I defending? Free speech and common sense.

Free speech? Rubbish. You want to use free speech to allow you to spout offensive [Poor language removed] at football games you are in the wrong argument.

And yes, a bad joke isn't racist because it's less funny, you are right. But if something is funny, or relevant, then the "satire" is working. Without it, it's just offensive. Same as how I can call my friends things with context that I'd never dream of saying to someone I don't know.

You are being stubborn for the wrong reasons.

And like I said, the song is terrible. I wouldn't want to sing it, and I'm sure I'm not alone. Especially when there was already a perfectly suitable Mina song being sung already.

Garbage

"I'm saying they shouldn't be a ashamed of them."

Sorry either my hearing isn't great or something but what's the racist word(s) being said in that video? The Ospina line?

The song is definitely David Brent levels of cringe. In-fact i could just imagine someone like brent singing it in an office thinking its dead funny and everyone around him just reclining with cringe and him then going 'freedom of speech though'.

Mildly stereotypical at worst.

You show me one fella, regardless of colour, who would be upset at being thought of as incredibly well endowed.

Exactly, I'd love a song like that sung about me. Swansea fans used to sing it about the late Kevin Austin en Mass for years and no trouble. It's a song I've heard fairly regularly by loads of teams.

Not sure if you're raging at me in particular or the world generally. I was just pointing out what would likely be offensive, if anything to him. I wasn't crying into my avocado and quinoa salad about it, just noting what was in the song.

I am ashamed that we have some dickheads who cannot see that what they are doing is very offensive.

An I am sure they are not offended at all by being called that.....

Why is it some people forget that they can be offensive without out referring to a stereotype until they hear others stereotype. I am of Asian ethnicity and am slightly overweight. I am more offended by comments about my weight than I am with racial stereotypes. One insult just shows ignorance, which isn't a big deal, the other is a personal comment aimed directly at me that's meant to hurt, insult or embarrass. Just my opinion.

Political correctness is nuts nowadays.
