Said that myself after the City game, Zouma, Mina and Keane at the back, and not one of them took it upon themselves to show some leadership, they all just stood there looking at each other when the goals went in.

It's an obvious weakness we've had for ages mate, no natural player with leadership qualities.

Jags walking off head down, wilkuams doing his bash street kuds inpression with his shirt pulled up, .

Pains me to say but the ones with the quality AND natural leadership mentality normally jump ship - stones being the latest example, Rooney before that,

When we do have one and they stay we tend to wait too long to actually give them the role, Coleman captain finally just as he goes over a cliff after the injury etc.

Company at city basically held together a young or erratic backline purely on being a fantastic organizer of people like ottanendi etc. Look over the park, vvd is doing similar now.

While I think this is partly inherent within them but time at the club helps. People grow into those roles. We need to start keeping players at the club a bit longer than we probably have done over the last 4-5 years.

Right now mate I can honestly say we don't have a player with the mix of ability, temperament, and natural qualities to get a really good leader. Lots have one or two if those but none have what you need in all three. Don't see any developing it either.

One of the reasons Tom Davies has been capt.

It's odd really, some of the lads I see it in, just aren't quite good enough. McCarthy I've always thought is a good leader but not really good enough. Davies looks like he might have it in him, but will take a long time to come out. As you've said Coleman too, but he's the other way towards the end of his career.

What I'll say though, is that Moyes built a resilient team. Part of that was they played together over a period. I'd say Cahill was a leader but again took him a bit of time to show that consistently.

For now, I'd play Mina with Zouma for a time. I think they compliment each other well.

Play him upfront with DCL in a 442 with Burnley style hoofball. We'll probably do better than the current garbage were dishing up

lol

He might well go on and become a top defender... But right now he is so far away.

It's definitely concerning when Barcelona are rushing to get rid of him 6 months after buying him considering they play in a league which is much easier to defend in the the Prem.

Really worried about this one, right now I'd rather Funes Mori and that's saying something!!
