How this complete Basket Case of a club came to the conclusion to spunk money on a LB & RB, who EITHER don't impress or play, when it was obvious a CB & CM was an Urgent necessity, is a glaring example of how inept and unfit for purpose the board of this club are !!
I have to say that clubs that dso what Everton did in January dont relaly deserve to stay up.

As I said yesterday: there's a best selling book to be written about Moshiri's period of ownership...something that hopefully is coming to an end very soon.

That has been a pattern of moshiris era , signing players that other managers do not trust enough to play. The list is quite extensive if you think about it , players who go from being big signings to out of favour.

January was simply us doing it in overdrive. Instead of out of favour 6 months later, we did it the next day.

This is why we are in the mess we are in. For the money invested, every single player through the door has to have a purpose. Whether it's the 3rd choice keeper or the new midfielder. The fact we can list players who cost actual money who weren't important is incredible. Any club can sign a single position and it not work out. How many midfielders here haven't worked out? We have at least 3 strikers who haven't worked out.

It's a joke.

Many a true word.
To my mind, Everton decided to follow a pattern. A pattern discarded by our unworthy neighbours a number of years ago now.
When we were skint broke, every player had to be 'fit for purpose'. Then the big bucks rolled in. Big Bad Mosh with a wallet full of dosh, and we went full on Viv Nicholson. Spend Spend Spend.
For years The Vermin had just bought players because they played well for another team. All at over inflated prices. It was folly. Every window it was 10 players in and 9 players out. Most at big losses. They were in turmoil. They were unbalanced. They were heading for liquidation, with Beitez being the biggest culprit.
In true 'Everton That' fashion, we followed the same philosophy. A failed philosophy. One we had witness fail, but, we had money, and nothing was going to stop us copying their disaster of a policy.
Another brainwave to compliment was the setting up of our own 'boot room' which the RS had discarded years earlier. One proving jobs for the boys is idiotic and actually creates disharmony.

There in a nutshell are the four main causes for our demise;
a). buy too many unsuitable players at inflated prices.
b). sell at mainly a loss.
c). employ former players regardless of suitability.
d). hire Benitez.

Jeez, just put red shirts on our backs and be done with it. Every philosophy those Gits employed, and failed with, we copied. You couldn't make this crap up.

Nobody can re-write history, but we can all learn from it. Everton excepted, of course.
