Was listening to talk sport the other day and had a manager on (can’t remember who) and they were saying the difficult thing used to be signing a player, now it’s getting players to renew their contracts. Players know they can get big signing on fees and increase wages if they wait it out until their contract expires.

We’ve left ourselves in a bad position here and Yerry will hold all the cards come the summer. Ideally we’ll convince him to sign a new contract during this season but you’d have to say from his point of view, why would you? Well played Brands…again.

How can you not love big Sir Yerald of Mina, class player and seems a top fella as well but when he walks on the pitch he becomes one of those players opposing fans hate and his own love, stay fit please Sir.

He's probably been our best player this season now he has had a run in the team. I bet all 3 of the other CBs would rather be partnered by him than each other. He also helps take the pressure of Pickford. I think Godfrey is his best partner but if you are going to be facing a barrage of crosses Keane would be better suited. In a 3 he is perfect for the middle role but personally I would rather not play that system. His lack of pace can be covered by good positioning and he rarely if ever gets muscled off the ball. He may have the odd daft error in him but even these are decreasing. They should be discussing a new contract with him now.
