Birmingham Mail review of Walsh's performance

Verdict:
Surprisingly entrusted with the play-making role at No. 10 and he worked hard to find pockets of space in front of the home defence.
He did well in tight spaces on a couple of occasions but was unable to stamp his mark on the game or link up with Sam Gallagher.
He willingly ran the channels though.

Not looking positive for Galloway. I am surprised as he looked very god a few seasons ago for Bobby.

Dont think that West Brom loan was good for his confidence, with the benefit of hindsight.
No I think it's fair to say it was a disaster. He's not really a left back or a wing back. He'd of benefited by dropping down a division and playing for either someone who played three at the back & he could have played left of centre or left sided centre half in a two. Either way he needed to be playing regularly to develop. Hopefully he can get his career back on track but I don't think it's going to be with us.

Bayern tonight. Onyekuru probably won't play much.

This is the most probable tactic since the team isn't playing well atm so the coach will start very defensive.

Chipciu and Kums in defence?

Yes Chipciu I can understand he makes him play fb a lot so that's no surprise; but Kums will be a new experiment of the coach. He and Kums have been having some issues lately (he didn't select him for the match against Lokeren etc), so it's an interesting one.

I don't rate Kums in any position on the pitch tbh. Rather play Henry up front and Hanni in CAM as Stanciu is well worse than I remember for Romania.

Sven Kums always has to play, he's brilliant even though he isn't playing well atm. He was Belgian footballer of the year in 2015 and made the top team team of the CL group-stages. The thing is he doesn't do defensive football; the reason why his transfer to Sampdoria failed (stupid transfer). Problem is RSCA is playing turgid defensive football atm; absolutely not his forte. I suspect Stanciu is playing because Kara is injured.

Maybe back in 2015 but when I watched him at Udinese last season he was shocking.

He doesn't play well in a defensive styled team; needs lots of movement in front of him etc. The coach doesn't like him because of this. Would seem quite likely that this is the reason why he is playing him as a CB against Lewandowski tonight. Same goes for the keeper; Sells on loan from Newcastle, he prefers Boeckx so he'll give Sells a chance in the CL (how friendly of him against Bayern Munchen). Bayern will be very pumped up after losing in the weekend. Oh and for some reason Harbaoui, after trying to sell him for the entire summer and loaning him out the entire previous summer, is in the squad again. The man's the equivalent of the RSCA Niasse.
