Matthew Pennington was an unused substitute in Leeds United's match.

..it depends on what you mean by ‘make it’. Most are already very wealthy young men who will continue to earn a lucrative living in the game, even in the lower leagues. The big doubt is whether any will be fixtures in Everton’s first team squad.
Yes I meant fixtures in our squad. The recent reports don’t seem very overwhelming to say the least. Can’t fathom Dowell out. One minute he’s a star the next he “ doesn’t seem interested”.

I think its more the team are struggling and he isn't the type to get stuck in and run around the pitch all game. A luxury they can't afford at the minute

...Dowell is the type of player makes things happen on a football pitch but won’t always be involved. Some managers feel that type is essential to win football matches, others will think he’s a luxury. To be a top player he probably needs to contribute more, especially when the opposition has possession.

I don't think HE needs to do more specifically, but its true he's a luxury they cant afford, like if you stick Ozil in the sunderland team, its highly likely they will continue to lose, doesn't mean he isn't a good player coz he wont get stuck in or chase round like a nut case

it seemed the perfect team to loan to originally, top end playing well pushing for play offs, but now they are struggling it seems a bad club for him to be at

I think it's perfect actually, he's had the opportunity to showcase his skills and be a 'star' for a bit, and now he's seeing that it's not all sunshine and roses and has to roll his sleeves up and contribute more to the team. From an Everton perspective (rather than from Dowell or Forests) this is pretty much an ideal scenario for readying him for PL football.

Agreed, and this is his first full season of senior football in a very competitive league with a lot of games. Understandable if he has a dip in form having played in almost every game.

yeah your right actually, because god knows its not all sunshine and roses for everton haha

it's so obvious what has happened to dowell, he was there best player and shining under the old manager, and then karanka has come in and he's a defensive dinosaur and doesn't like attacking players, Dowell has probably his role changed significantly and told he must spend half his time chasing players around to win the ball and he's struggling to do so
