"Dennis Adeniran was magnificent first half"

OS Match Report

Twitter stuff
3' Connolly heads away Gillingham's cross well.
11' Some strong defending by Connolly as he halts Gillingham's attack and sends it out for a throw-in.
34' Some good defensive duties by the back two of Mulgrew and Connolly blocks Samuel's cross for a corner.
78' Ogilvie sends the ball over the top, as Connolly brings down Akinde illegally as the referee blows for a free-kick.
79' Connolly with a last-ditch tackle to send it out for a corner for the hosts, but it comes to nothing.

Lewis Gibson was an unused sub for Reading.
Nathangelo Markelo was not in matchday squad. (Out until 2021 - ligament injury to right knee.)

That's a bad one for Markelo if he's out for 12 months. I'm assuming he'll already be back at Everton now undergoing his rehab or awaiting an operation.

Quite impressive reports since he is playing for a side that seem to be struggling to cope with the step up.

...he looked the part at Fulham and a certain times in games at U23 level, he won’t lack physicality in league football as he’s a fine size and moves really well, his challenge will be reaching a level of consistency.

I assume no one knew Reading would have such a good defence? Only one goal conceded in 7 matches is some going.

I don't even think it's a case of that. Their two centre halves comprise of the club's captain and a player that had the most outfield minutes for Reading last season.
It was a dumb club to send him to for game time; said it at the time and been proven right since.

Totally, the club, his advisors and Reading have let him down. What a frustrating waste for him to be sat warming the bench in such an important season for his development.

I’m not feeling that charitable towards Reading going forward or their manager, it’s great back up for them and they’ll be rubbing their hands but during negotiations they can’t have been entirely candid about their plans otherwise only a lunatic would have signed off the loan. Disappointing, only an injury will get him in the team now.

Maybe but they've nearly kept as many clean sheets already this season than they got the whole of last season.
