100% this.

So much jealousy. The sad thing is the people dishing it out are likely people who failed school and are only qualified for dead end jobs. They see a lad they used to know down the road earning a fortune playing for their boyhood club and can’t handle it. The only emotion they know is anger HATE HATE HATE.

another good example that, @Bungle

I see that absolutely unfunny mutant who thinks he’s some sort of space traveller that was funny for about a week after the GE and refers to people as human has been tagging me.

I hope he’s got dengue fever rn.
Yes him, @Lord Buckethead, I’ve heard about his match previews, the exact same type of stuff Spurty drones on about on Twitter.

Please refrain from these ridiculous accusations.
If you have a problem please talk to the mods about it.

On many occasions I saw young John Stones physically wilt in the face of abuse from Everton supporters during home matches. Every single mistake was pounced upon as if it were a sin akin to murder. I hate to say it, but I don't blame the lad for leaving.

And countless pundits have highlighted the criticism/abuse that Ross Barkley receives from Everton fans every match, which appears to have stunted his confidence and thus his progress awa player. It makes sense: if thousands of your own fans are telling you that you're crap, you start to believe it. It's toxic.

Not sure what happened to our fans. We weren't even as bad as this when we finished on 38 points in Moyes' second full season in charge.

The irony is that the seem people who get on the backs of young players who are learning their trade in a very public environment were very unlikely to have started work and be perfect straight away.

Obviously they might think they walked into their first job and hit the floor running on day one, but the chances are that even ten or twenty years later, they're probably only vaguely competent at what they do. So they're taking out their frustrations caused by their failures, on young men in the hope that those young professional footballers will join them on life's scrapheap.

have you noticed @Lord Buckethead how they resort to aggressive playground-level namecalling? this thread is about this very thing, yet they post without sense of irony...they are the ones wearing the massive helmet blinkers, they just don't know it. it's fascinating to behold. a very study of human nature.
I don't know how they get away with it all.
We'd be banned for a fraction of what they post.

Oh good, you’re back as well.
