I honestly don't think I've ever had home cooked food on a Saturday, ever since I was a kid it was chippy teas which I've carried on till now and also Fridays now lol

Every time I try and cook the kitchen looks like a bomb has hit it, then the missus and my lad absolutely slaughter what I've served up. :(

lol

I am by no means a "great" cook, but over the years have the confidence to have a go. Like a few months ago, Mrs R fancied chicken fajittas, so looked up the ingredients and that, had a go, and it was ok, but a bit bland. So next time, (last night), just used more lime, cummin and paprika.

Was triffic.

I'm having a Mexican inspired 'Eggy bread' for my tea: eggy bread, avocado, thinly sliced tomatoes, cheese and some chillies.

I assume you lob the avocados on top, after the rest has been grilled? Sounds lovely that, but me being me, I would have used some feta with the other cheese.

Pretty much: fry the bread with some seasoning until it's brown; smother it with the avocado, cheese and tomato; sprinkle some chillies and grill.

A dash of Hendos' on top is a nice touch, but I like the idea of feta as well so may do that. It's really quick, easy and quite filling, which is perfect as I'm shattered.

Chicken & chorizo, casseroled by the missus, I’m just about to mash the spuds. Lashed down with a bottle of red I had for my birthday. Currently quarantined after a month in Crete ☹

I have to ask mate, what’s your tipple in the Ship and Mitre?
It all depends what's on and what time of year it is: usually, it'll be a porter or a stout if it's in the November-December time; a good session ale the rest of the time.

They had a Porter on today called Jar, from the Flagship brewery, which was okay. I had it after a fair few of their splendid Oxford Gold.
