It all depends what's on and what time of year it is: usually, it'll be a porter or a stout if it's in the November-December time; a good session ale the rest of the time.

They had a Porter on today called Jar, from the Flagship brewery, which was okay. I had it after a fair few of their splendid Oxford Gold.
Definitely on my list to visit the Ship and Mitre next time I can make it over.
 


Chicken and gravy pie with broccoli and a glass or two of NZ red. Fresh fruit to follow but not grapes as I find they don't go with wine.
