Yep, I also sometimes put in the ubiquitous HP sauce for a tangy flavour. :) I also usually have beetroot with it as well. It keeps very well and is even more tasty in the days after. If you make a load of it it freezes well ; I've also made Scouse pies with the leftovers, which you can also freeze.
Good to know it freezes well, thanks. So yo make the pie you just make a pie crust and use the leftovers as the filling?

A pie to mind is pastry both underneath and on top of the filling, none of the crap pastry lids you get nowadays ! :rant: Tbh, I'm A lazy get and usually make pasties as they're easier to do. lol

These are pasties, you can put any filling you wish into them :

I would probably like pasties over pies too. They remind me of Colombian empanadas, pasties stuffed with shredded chicken, or a mix of potato and ground beef, or cheese.
