Def. £25m for him, Iheanacho and Danjuma and we've revolutionised our attack. Obviously have no idea about this guy, but virtually anybody is an upgrade on Maupay so I'm all for him joining us.

Still think we need someone else to play wide, as we look to be selling Gray. Currently McNeil and Danjuma are the starting wingers, behind that doesn’t fill me with confidence with Iwobi and Young. Maybe Dele can play out there too.

If the choice was there I’d look to bring another winger in on loan at least, or else go for a forward that can play across the line instead of Iheanacho.

Part of that plan should always be “are we likely to lose money on this player?” So it’s actually the main reason.

We could lose money on this kid if he's utter guff. Age doesn't guarantee anything.

If Benzema at 35 rocked up here in pretty sure he'd save our season.

It's worth remarking on us being linked with an SCP player for the first time in our history (I imagine) in the same week that we're playing them.

… but it feels a bit weird to be after a player of a team we’re playing in a pre-season friendly.

Like we only found out about him because we’re playing them.

A more charitable interpretation - and huge respect to Thelwell if this is the case - we’re playing SCP exactly because we’re interested in him and this is a fixture designed to help seal the deal by bringing the clubs together for a game.

Maybe just coincidence i think mate.
