I know some are bemoaning the price, but if a Brighton or Brentford bought this lad and then sold him in 2 years for 40-50 million, we’d be moaning about our lack of vision and scouting. I’m not saying that is 100% going to happen but we have to take a punt on some of these young players. It’s the only way that we will become sustainable without massive commercial deals which we aren’t getting for some time yet.

Excellent post. Spot on. He's worth the risk but hopefully we bring in an established and experienced premier league centre forward like Iheanacho so we can slowly bring along this young man at the right pace and not force him to play 30+ league games straight off the bat.

Nice to have a rumour that only surfaces when it's almost done, rather than the ones that drag on for weeks.

The domino effect of Simms - Everton to Coventry; Gykores - Coventry to Sporting and Chermitti - Sporting to Everton wouldn't make the Guinness Book of Records but it would be very satisfying to think it was Kev's plan all along. Even more so if he turns out to be any good.
