Who’s going to let a good talent who’s made first team appearances go for initially nothing? What do sporting gain from this deal maybe £15m or whatever the exact numbers are. Stinks of Moise Kean again hope I turn out to be wrong but I fear it’s the wrong signing when we needed a first team ready forward just like at the time Patterson and Mykolenko wasn’t what we needed.

At 19 years old? The likelihood is currently not but potentially could be.
If he's genuinely considered good enough for a Premier League bench and minutes off it then he's ahead of the curve of most 19 year old players.

At the moment we aren't really in a situation where we can buy potential, especially very raw players like Chermiti. We had Cannon and Simms who were 'potential ' but never got a proper chance. Came into Doucoure's position after replacing him.
Perhaps he can be eased in there.
If our team can get up into midtable and remain there then the exact type of players to bring in are the 17-19 year old age group.
One at CM and one in CB position.
Clearly still would need a 20-22 year old signed in both positions also.

Maybe after so many years those who make the decisions thought that Cannon and Simms were unlikely to make the grade. Both had played at Championship level and had spent a long time with the club so there are factors that can influence a decision. Even with potential you need to make that call at some time and if there's interest out there for a player who a club is unsure about then maybe taking the money there and then is the right option.
As for buying in potential then again there's also an element of a deal being available at a certain time. Without knowing the full ins and outs of the transfer then we can't really say for sure whether bringing in Chermiti had a financial effect on being able to bring in others.
And if one particular deal (a player to come in and offer something straight away) isn't available then do you simply not bother making other deals that are available and fit another facet of an overall plan?
