There are 9 games left mate. He might start 2 at a push. Is that the sample size that will convince Moyes that we only need 2 strikers next season and Chermiti (having been injured for 8 months of this season) should be one of them?
I’ll answer now: No.
He's 'competing' with
DCL = Leaving
Broja = Crap
Beto = Current starter
Then, when Moyes used 1 CF in the past, did he have 3 senior players on the books?
I'd say a 1st choice + Chermiti + an u21
Is it tough? We’re going nowhere either direction. It’d be criminal to come out of this season unsure on what everyone in the squad can do. Chermiti should get a handful of starts.We are in a tough spot right now in terms of does moyes try to keep going like we are, with the players he is currently using, or does he start to play these fringe players a lot more to see if they are up to the task. I.e chermiti getting a whole 45 minutes, patterson getting 30 minutes in a game and starting alcaraz each game now?
I wouldnt be against moyes saying hes going to see what the other players offer until the end of the season.
Sorry, he's just not good enough for that though. Sell.But we need him to do that now!![]()
Needs to be on the pitch ahead of Broja, who we don’t really need to see in a blue shirt again tbh.
Was bizarre for him to get on the pitch over Chermiti.
He's essentially a Portuguese Calvert-Lewin, albeit brought in a little more expensively: a relative unknown, tall, athletic centre forward brought in not as a starter but to develop into a good player.….you’re a goal down in a big game, you look at the bench and you make your decision. I can think the only plausible reason is that Moyes thought Broja the better option.
I hoped Chermiti would be the choice, simply because it’d be a positive indication we might have a decent player on our hands. He really needs to be making an impact now.

I agree with you, he needs to be making an impact now / next season, but given we surely will be bringing in a new starting centre forward, it'll likely be very difficult for Cherms to dislodge a new signing and make the position his own.
I think a successful season for him in 25/26 is making an impact from the bench and getting himself ahead of Beto (if he stays) as first backup, as well as grabbing a handful of goals over the season.
