The Gana situation was different in that we fielded the first bid with a week to go in the harder window and only made him wait 6 months. Zaha has been bid on for a solid 6 weeks now.

Principle is the same. If Palace had said to Zaha when he signed his contract, "Give us 18 months", or whatever, and the player didnt, then fair enough. The club holds him. If, as has been suggested, it was for this window, then thats a different fish.

They have certainly created a problem if the talk about an agreement allowing him to leave for a decent fee when he signed his last contract is true.

Zaha agency has 6 current Palace players. 4 ex players.

The club can't do business with them, renege on agreement and expect to proceed with the relationship.

I would arguably say that is exactly what we did with Gana, get your head down, let us find a worthy replacement and you'll get your move in the summer?
Very true , however I don’t think Gana had recently signed an extended contract guaranteeing him a wage rise in return. We also required him to wait until we had a found a replacement.
We did the same with Stones when he put in a transfer request on the eve of the new season. We denied his request but agreed to let him leave at the end of the season.
Surely if some sort of informal agreement existed between Palace and Zaha they would have prioritised finding a replacement as soon as the season ended. The fact they haven’t leads me to believe that such an agreement was never made.
Perhaps in the end they will deny his request but allow him to leave at the conclusion of the upcoming season, that seems the most likely scenario at present.

Yeah I suppose but the truth is, no one but Zaha and whoever he made said agreement with, know what said agreement is...

Think it signifies him going down on their DoF to secure a wage increase and then coming back up an extra floor to give himself time to clean his face. I could of course be wrong but I rarely am.
lol
