This wasnt about the club standing up to the player. The chairman and the player had a verbal agreement if a high offer came in he could go. From all of the reports Zaha only signed the improved deal to protect his value for Palace. Parish will have has lost all respect from the players as pulling a stunt like that isnt going to go down well in the dressing room. I still think we will go back in for him in January just not sure that he will come if Chelsea are sniffing around.

If the owners promised he could leave this summer then they've clearly acted in very bad faith, and word will spread.

That makes no sense to me whatsoever. The top 4 changes every year. No club is a top 4 club by right. Plus why would palace care where he goes as long as their valuation is met?

I voted Swerve he's an overated turd...and @£80M plus players, he's also vastly over priced turd. I wasn't happy at £50M tbh.

Ship has definitely sailed now. We won’t be back in for him at the price wanted and I doubt he will come after we hung him out to dry after not biddng after he put in the transfer request (even though that was daft as it seems like we had lost interest after the first bid was turned down)

Ban will not be lifted...and I hope that no way we'll pay 80 millions in jan...any future bid for him has to take into account age and the fact that he will have less on his contract...so if price was 80 this summer...might be 70 in jan...then maybe 60 next summer...then if course we have to see his form then which might not be that good this season especially when you're not motivated...

Wel I reckon he was going to come in as a striker but he’s a winger (I we had have got him and Iwobi with the other wingers we have, someone would have had to play striker i I reckon it would have been him, but his goal scoring isn’t that good. I know we got a Kean but we still didn’t really get a Lukaku replacement an out and out striker.

Glad we missed out. It's the wrong transfer strategy for me. We need to be turning players into £70m superstars, not buying them at that price only to watch their value fall within a year.
