His lack of pace is the undoing of him. Regardless of any other aspect to his game. Can't make it in this league being that slow in his position.

to be honest at the time i felt it was a better option to lump the fees and wages of both maupay and mcneil and whatever else to get Broja.

Think he's a decent enough player. But as said. He looks a yard off the pace and at times his head is already at home.

He is actually a League 1 player. Useless.

There was a moment in the first half before they scored where we were breaking down our right hand side, Patterson was a yard or two in front of their fullback running into space and all McNeil had to do was play in front of him.

For some reason he dwelled on the ball for too long and a Bournemouth player tackled him. Small things like this cost us, I’ve seen him do it before earlier on in the season - think it might have been against Villa were all he has to do is play a simple through ball but he bottles it.

If he had pace to compensate he might get away with it, but at this level he just doesn’t offer enough.

To be fair I said this before we even signed him.

What can he offer centrally? He scored that great goal against us whilst playing centrally, he played centrally in his debut against Kiev and also scored the goal combining with Iwobi from a central position.

What McNeil is good at is quick 1-2s, putting balls around corners and shooting around the area. What he is not good at is taking players on or using both of his feet (he is very one footed.)

He is never a traditional winger.

If you rate him as any sort of a footballer then you know absolutely zero about football, nothing, zilch.
