He's not good enough to play centrally

Just before Bournemouth scored their first, we had a break on - 3v1. All McNeil had to do was release a simple pass to his right and we had the overload with 40 yards of space to run into.

He literally ran straight into the one defender, Bournemouth broke and nearly scored.

If you rate him as any sort of a footballer then you know absolutely zero about football, nothing, zilch.

He's absolutely terrible.

To be fair I said this before we even signed him.

What can he offer centrally? He scored that great goal against us whilst playing centrally, he played centrally in his debut against Kiev and also scored the goal combining with Iwobi from a central position.

What McNeil is good at is quick 1-2s, putting balls around corners and shooting around the area. What he is not good at is taking players on or using both of his feet (he is very one footed.)

He is never a traditional winger.

Honestly i dunno if Lampard will see out the season or not but there's just so many players that are ordinary it's hard to know where to point the blame.

The players aren't good. But the coaching is bad and you can change that now. You can't change the players now. Maybe it won't work but you must try.

He’s too slow and he’s so one footed it’s unbelievable. You’d expect a PL football player to at least be able to side foot a pass with their weaker foot.

Definitely don’t think he’ll make it here, especially as he hasn’t the physical attributes.

He was embarrassing in build up to second goal, turning his back when he should be challenging Zemura properly (who had a very impressive game as LWB).

Just an attacker who makes very little impact on games and he's not helping out enough defensively either. Gordon should hang his head he's been benched for McNeil, that should be a big wake up call.

The main prerequisite to being an effective premier league footballer is you need to be good enough at football to play in the premier league and Dwight McNeil is not a good enough footballer to player in the premier league.
